The Lockhart tea factory is famous for its Orthodox Tea produced in the traditional way. The museum includes a living factory which was built in 1936 and a tea sales outlet and tea-tasting sections. The visitors are given a briefing about the origins of tea for consumption, its history & health benefits and explained about the traditional tea manufacturing processes.

Great tour with a knowledgeable guide - Super great tour, would recommend to everyone! Our guide Mari was very knowledgeable and didn’t only explain about the area but also the Ayurvedic medicinal plants and the local wildlife. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Magical tour! - Mari has encyclopaedic knowledge and imparts it beautifully. Despite torrential rain, we had a magical time and would thoroughly recommend this stunning tour.

Beautiful Lockhart Tea Estate plantation tour! - Mari was superb! Very helpful and knowledgeable. Me and mom had a wonderful time on this gorgeous plantation (on Gap Road) with spectacular views.

Tea Valley Visit - Views were amazing and tour guide Raja was very knowledgable. Factory was interesting as well.
We did not know that a taxi/auto rickshaw was needed to take you from the tea farm to the factory, and Raja sorted one out for us without an issue.

Very enjoyable and educational - My husband and I throughly enjoyed this 3 hour tour. Our tour guide Mari was very knowledgeable and we learnt so much more than just about the tea at Lockhart tea factory as Mari shared so much about the history and the ecosystem of the area from wildlife that lives there to other crops that grow there. We got to see the tea pickers working very hard to the whole factory process. And we got to try and buy some tea for ourselves! You can even have a professional photo amongst the tea if you’d like! There’s also roadside beverages and snacks.

Lockhart Tea Plantation - What an amazing morning we had walking through the tea plantation. For two hours we were immersed in facts and information about the tea plants, types of teas, and the fauna and flora we passed by. We had a stop and sampled some delicious tea and a Munnar snack before our drive to the tea factory. Mr Mari, our guide was exceptional.
The tea factory tour was informative too. We met Mr Ravi, who guided us through the factory.

A great tea experience - A truly enjoyable tour through the tea fields and then the factory. Our guide Mari was full of information and helped us really understand the whole process from end to end. The booking experience with Munnar Info was easy and the team kept in constant contact. I would have no hesitation recommending them.

A wonderful tour of the tea plantation - Mari our guide gave us so much information about tea growing. We would never have learnt so much if we hadn’t booked the tour. Mari was entertaining and very knowledgeable. Not only did the tour include the tea plantation but also a tour of the factory and tea tasting with Mr Ravi. We had a fabulous day.
Next time I will book a longer tea plantation walk to get further into the estate
