Joshimath - The distance from Dehradun to Joshimath is 284 kilometers, taking about 9 to 10 hours via NH7. We’ll leave Dehradun early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful drive. Along the way, we’ll see four of the five Panch Prayags, where rivers meet. First is Devprayag, where the Alaknanda meets the Bhagirathi to form the Ganga. Next is Rudraprayag (Alaknanda and Mandakini), followed by Karnaprayag (Alaknanda and Pindar), and finally Nandprayag (Alaknanda and Nandakini).
These rivers enhance our journey. We’ll spend the night in Joshimath to rest for the next day’s drive and hike. Tip: Arrive in Rishikesh a day early to avoid delays and explore the city.

The route was famously traversed by Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905, which is why it is also known as the “Lord Curzon Trail.” A major attraction of this trek is the awe-inspiring view of Nanda Devi, the tallest peak entirely within Indian borders. The journey begins with a drive to Dhak Village, located just 12 kilometers from Joshimath. The trail winds through enchanting oak and rhododendron forests, which are particularly vibrant in the spring. Throughout the trek, adventurers will be captivated by the magnificent vistas of several notable mountain peaks, including Nanda Devi, Dronagiri Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Ghori Parbat, and many others.
