Highlights

Cusco - Km 104 - Sungate - Machu Picchu - Aguas Celientes

Inca Trail - Pick up at 4:00 am and drive to Ollantaytambo. From here it’s a 1-hour train ride along the Urubamba river from Ollantaytambo (in the highlands) to km 104 at Chachabamba (in the cloud forest), where we start our hike to Machu Picchu. Our first stop is a beautiful Inca ruin called Chachabamba.

After exploring the site we will hike for 4 hours until we arrive at Wiñay Huayna (the place that never gets old). An organic packed lunch and refreshments will be provided. Later we will continue our hike to the Sun Gate to catch your first glimpse of the Lost City of the Incas - a truly unforgettable sight.

From the Sun Gate, it’s a 1-hour downhill walk to the city. We will arrive in Machu Picchu in the afternoon and will, therefore, have the unique opportunity of experiencing the citadel almost empty. We will then take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where we will have dinner, and spend the night in a hotel.

Machu Picchu - The Lost City of the Incas

Machu Picchu - We will wake up early to visit Machu Picchu - the Lost City of the Incas. We will go straight to the line to wait for the first buses to Machu Picchu at 5:30 am.

You can watch the spectacular sunrise over Machu Picchu on a clear day. This is truly an unforgettable sight.

Your guide will take you on a 2 to 3-hour comprehensive tour of the city before leaving you in Machu Picchu to explore on your own or climb either Huayna Picchu or Montaña (tickets must be booked as far in advance). Your guide will explain how to take the bus from Machu Picchu back to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and then take the Panoramic train and bus back to Cusco. TreXperience will meet you off the train and return you safely to your hotel.

First Class Machu Picchu Experience - The trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu with Sara was without a doubt exceptional & first class. From helping us navigate the commuting to taking the perfect postcard pictures on top Circuit #1. Sara is warm, knowledgeable and has so much passion for her Country. We struggled with altitude sickness at the beginning of the tour and Sara made special arrangements to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying the entire tour, without missing a thing.

Short Inca trail 2D1N with hotel - The 2 day Inca trail tour was very well organized and our guide Sara was extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout the trip. The Inca trail is a once in a lifetime experience and the short version from km 104 is the perfect option for people who are short on time or don't want to commit to the whole trail. TreXperience made sure that everything was well taken care of and I would not hesitate to book with them again. It was an amazing experience!

Perfect Tour with the Perfect Guides - Having never completed a trek before I was a little wary going into it. But Edy “El Puma” and Nilton were really amazing. Edy’s passion in explaining the different sites along the way and Nilton’s caring nature were truly top quality. Wouldn’t change a thing!!

Christian at his best - This is a great 'thank you' to our excellent guide Christian who showed a balanced mixture of empathy and humor along with deep knowledge of the whole Inka history. His skills as photographer are also impressive. We all enjoyed the two days, although the second day was rainy and we witnessed the tragic bus incident. Christian managed that we despite it caught one of the last buses down to the Urubamba river and reached our train in time. We wish Christian all the best. Uta and Letko

Highly recommended tour to Machu Picchu! - Super Tour. Our guide Christian always had everything under control, so you could concentrate on the experience yourself. Walking pace was very pleasant. Not too fast, not too slow. Especially exciting were all the information Christian told us about the places. Also the transport and luggage storage were great, so absolutely recommended!

Highly recommend - Trexperience are an extremely well organised outfit & we were pleased we chose them for our Inca Trail hike. Our guide Filio was knowledgeable & gave us additional time at Machu Picchu so we really felt we’d seen & taken in everything. Filio is very passionate about his subject & we learnt so much from him although on occasions we struggled a little to understand what he was saying. The hotel we stayed in Aguas Calientes was convenient & comfortable. I would definitely recommend anyone thinking of undertaking Machu Picchu to book with Trexperience.
