• Many kayaks can be stacked on vehicle roofs.
• Be aware of risks due to Lake Tahoe’s cold temperature and high altitude; wear a PFD, assess hazards, test water comfort, and have a safety plan.
• Prioritize personal safety over equipment in rough conditions; let go of uncontrollable or sinking gear.
• If belongings fall into the lake and can’t be retrieved safely, don’t attempt to recover them; inform us of the location for our scuba diving team to recover items like paddles and fins later.
