- Indianapolis City Market - About halfway through the tour, we will take a short break at Indy City Market where you can use the restroom and grab and drink or snack. Because Indianapolis is an open container city, you will be permitted to order a beer at Tomlinson Taproom and take it with you on the rest of our journey.
- Indiana War Memorial - You will learn about the rich history of Indiana and our part in WWI.
- The Murat Theatre at the Old National Centre - Scottish Rite entertainment theater.

Indy Walking Tours offers a 90-minute guided exploration of Indianapolis’ city streets. This leisurely walk will take you through the Indiana War Memorial Historic District, Mass Ave, the Wholesale District, City Market, the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, and various intriguing spots along the way. You’ll delve into the rich history of Indianapolis, hear tales of local true crime, enjoy humorous anecdotes, discover little-known folklore, and learn about the inspirations and meanings behind historical statues, architecture, and monuments. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes as the tour covers 1.5 miles. This is the most thorough and engaging tour in Indy, perfect for all ages. For large group bookings or additional options, please contact us. A minimum of 4 participants is required for all tours. If fewer than 4 people book within 24 hours of your tour, you will receive a refund.

FABULOUS Tour and Tour Guide in Downtown Indianapolis! Highly Recommend! - We absolutely LOVED our tour with Rob! Such a friendly, fun guy that shared so much information about the area. The heat was terrible (mid-90's) and he asked if we could move our tour to 10:30 am (from 2:00.) All parties agreed and we were SO grateful. The monuments in downtown Indianapolis are amazing. The cleanliness of the area was also surprising and they have a crew that just picks up trash on sidewalks, etc. There are many bars and restaurants in the area so you won't be at a loss to find somewhere to eat or drink. I highly recommend this 1-1/2 walking tour if you have the time in Indianapolis. We had an absolutely fabulous time! Well worth the money and suitable for most ages (little children might not be as excited seeing the city, but would like the walk!) A+A+A+

Fun Informative Tour - Fun and informative tour in downtown. Was easy to find the meeting spot. Halfway through the tour, we took a bathroom/beverage break at the Tavern on the Point, which was a nice break. All in all, enjoyed the tour and would recommend.

Definitely Worth it!! - I am so glad we did this tour. My daughter is moving here for an internship this summer and neither of us have ever been to Indianapolis (or Indiana for that matter). There is nothing like talking to someone who loves their city to make you excited about having a few months to discover what it is like to live here. Guide was excellent - gave us a lot of information about the history of the city as well as practical recommendations for places to eat and sights to see.

Great Discovery - It was a great discovery. As Belgians, we had never been in Indianapolis before and it was a great way to discover the city and the good places to be be. Rob is really a passionated guide who loves to talk about this amazing city. I would highly recommend.

Highly recommended! - Rob was a fantastic guide! He provided clear communication about where and when to meet and cheerfully greeted us on arrival. Ours was a small group (just our family of three plus two other guys) which turned out great. Rob’s knowledge was great and he provided an entertaining overview of Indianapolis as we saw the sights. The tour was filled with stories to provide context for what we were seeing and he adjusted the tour a bit as he learned of our interests. Highly recommend this to visitors to Indy!

Indy wandering tour - Fair experience. We were disappointed to learn there was no audio version of the tour. Not much information of history or architectures. It was difficult to find route due to limited street signs. We didn’t complete the full tour after wandering around for 3 hours.
