Penglipuran Village is a distinctive traditional community with its own customary way of life, interactions, and cultural practices. Nestled alongside the Bamboo Forest in Bangli Regency, the village exhibits minimal influence from modernity, retaining a quaint charm. The cool climate contributes to its allure, owing to an elevation of approximately 700 meters above sea level. Historical accounts from the village elders suggest the name ‘Penglipuran’ is derived from ‘Pengeling Pura’, meaning a tribute to forebears. Alternatively, it is suggested that ‘Penglipur’ translates to ‘the entertainer’. A tour of the area includes visits to Tirta Empul in Tampaksiring, Kintamani, and the genuine Kehen Temple.
