Krakatau Volcano – Rakata Island Tour – Marina Carita – Jakarta Hotel (B,L,)
After enjoying breakfast at 8 am, we’ll get ready to embark on a cruise journey to Krakatau Volcano. The half an hour journey will be on a speed boat. Our exploration continues as we ascend the Child of Krakatau, giving us the chance to admire the stunning landscape from the first level. Dive deep into the awe-inspiring history of Krakatau, which experienced renewed volcanic activities that began in May, 1883, and persisted until August. The initial eruptions were witnessed on the northern, Perbuatan volcano. An increase in the number of active vents was noted on both northern volcanoes. On 26th and 27th August, there were a series of monumental explosions that reached as far as South Australia and Ceylon. These explosions caused tsunamis (giant ocean waves) that could be detected even in the English Channel. These waves were intensely destructive in the Sunda Strait area, causing over 36,000 unfortunate deaths. After our in-depth exploration of the Krakatau, we retreat back to the boat to carry on our cruise journey around.
