Sekonyer River Tanjung Harapan Feeding Camp, Night Trekking

Tanjung Harapan Orangutan Rehabilitation Center - 11:00 AM: Pick-up from the airport or hotel, followed by an escort to the Klotok port to start the Sekonyer River adventure. A hot lunch is served as we leave Teluk Kumai and enter the Sekonyer River Estuary. Our first stop is Tanjung Harapan, the gateway to the Orangutan Conservation area established in 1972.
3:00 PM: Arrive at Tanjung Harapan and embark on a 1.5 KM trek to the Feeding Camp, an orangutan habitat in the swamp and peat swamp forest area.
5:00 PM: Return to the Klotok to continue the journey along the Sekonyer River while enjoying a snack. Observe Bekantan and various monkeys in the trees along the riverbank during the trip to the overnight location.
7:00 PM: Dinner, followed by a break on the Klotok, accompanied by the tranquil sounds of forest animals at night.

Pondok Tanggui Black River & Camp Leakey Firefly Dinner Orangutan Feeding Camp

Pondok Tanggui Orangutan Rehabilitation Center - 8:00 AM: After breakfast, the Klotok heads towards Pondok Tanggui Feeding Camp. In the morning, many typical Borneo birds, including hornbills (Mandarin Horn Bill) and other birds, can be heard singing.
9:00 AM: Arrive at Pondok Tanggui, entering the National Park area with swamp forest vegetation characterized by small stems with fiber roots.

Camp Leakey - 11:00 AM: Depart from Pondok Tanggui to Camp Leakey, the oldest Feeding Camp managed by Prof. Dr. Biruet G. Aldikas, an orangutan expert who began research in 1970 at Tanjung Putting.
1:00 PM: After lunch, enter the pitch-black but clear river, typical of peat forest water. Arrive at Camp Leakey and explore the tropical rainforest with typical Borneo trees, trekking 2 KM into the forest where rangers feed orangutans at the Feeding Camp.
3:00 PM: Return to the Klotok and travel down the Sekonyer River back to Muara, enjoying the afternoon atmosphere of life along the Sekonyer River’s natural forest with endemic species.
7:00 PM: Dinner in the Nipah Forest, where thousands of fireflies gather. This tourist spot can only be enjoyed without being documented. Overnight stay in the Nipah forest area.
