Dreamlike three days - It was a three-day dream experience. My early morning flight was an hour early and I missed it, so I was at a loss. But they responded appropriately via email and we were able to fly in the afternoon and join the tour. My guide, Rusmin, and my three companions were also very kind, and I, who participate alone, was able to spend time without any worries. The many orangutans I saw up close, the gibbons I saw on Tengzal 49, and the starry sky, Milky Way and hordes of swarms of scourges I saw from the night ship were all dreamlike and the biggest adventure of my life. The food was delicious and I was able to eat it for three days without getting bored. Thank you very much. I just hope that rich forest lasts forever.

Once-in-a-lifetime orangutan extravaganza! Such a beautiful and fun experience! - This was an incredible experience. I booked this with my sister as we love animals and have always wanted to see orangutans in their natural habitat. We didn’t really know what to expect as there weren’t many reviews left here but we decided to go for it and I’m so happy we did! It turned out we were the only two guests on the boat so we had four people working just for us: our guide, the ship captain, the chef, and an assistant who helped clean and carry things for us. They were all super kind and thought of everything we could possibly need. Every meal was completely different and had some kind of protein, rice, fruit, and appetizer. Additionally, snacks and bottled water were provided throughout the trip. We had a shower downstairs (cold water, but in the heat, it’s super refreshing) and mosquito net for our bed. Oddly enough, we had a worse problem with mosquitos in my house in Northern Thailand than on this jungle cruise. The food and snacks were delicious and there were many thoughtful touches such as cold towels after our walks in the jungle. Now to the main reason we chose to take this cruise: wildlife!! This cruise includes three stops at orangutan research stations in Tanjung Puting National Park, including Camp Leakey which is probably the most well-known one. We saw around 20 orangutans at the three different stations and even passed by a couple on the river in between stations. We saw three gibbons as well as nearly 100 proboscis monkeys and long tail macaques combined. When you visit the stations, there is a 15-20 minute walk after getting off the boat to reach the feeding stages. You may see orangutans in the trees during these walks! When you reach the stage, workers lay out tons of bananas and sweet potatoes. Seeing the orangutans in their natural habitat was a bucket list item for me, and the experience was truly unforgettable. Between the stops at stations, there is a lot of time for relaxing on the boat as we cruised along the river, and you can hang out and enjoy the nature, read a book, or take naps. Cell service along the river is spotty and you may be without internet connection for 10+ hours at a time, which I honestly thought was a plus as it really helped us connect to our surroundings. It was a truly unforgettable experience and I recommend that if you are considering going, just go for it. You won’t regret it!

Perfect!! - We couldn’t have wished for a better boat trip. From the moment we stepped on board, the atmosphere was incredibly positive and cheerful. The crew was not only super friendly, but also genuinely caring and helpful. They made us feel completely welcome and ensured we didn’t lack a thing. We were told beforehand that we might not see any orangutans, but we were incredibly lucky: we saw so many of them at every feeding station and even spontaneously while cruising. It was a beautiful experience! Our guide, Rosmin, was amazing. He had a lot of knowledge and shared it in such a fun and entertaining way. The food on board was fantastic every single time. Fresh, varied, and prepared with great care, we truly felt spoiled. On the last evening, we had dinner surrounded by fireflies. Very cool. And the starry sky was absolutely stunning too. We also slept wonderfully on the boat. Our mosquito net was set up for us, and on the second night we were even given (again) fresh bedding. These kinds of thoughtful touches show how much attention is paid to guests’ comfort. In short: it was an unforgettable experience, thanks to the warm and attentive crew. We’d do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Awesome Crew and Unforgettable Experience - Other than spending some time during the holidays with my youngest sister who lives in Indonesia, this was the highligt of my trip! I booked this as a gift to my mom and sister and did not regret it. Ami was a knowledgeable, kind and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. We saw so many Orangutans as well as other monkeys! Ample time was provided at each stop and our guide made sure to show us other flora and fauna on the walk in and out, so we learned so much about Borneo. The cook was a wonderful woman who provided such filling a delicious meals! It was nice to float along the river and relax from the stress of day to day and I even spotted an Orangutan hanging out as we floated by. The captain and second captain were awesome, too, they expertly guided the boat through the river and got us tied up so we could get to shore. Thank you, Ami and crew for a truly unforgettable experience, just wish I hadn't caught a bug as I would have been able to enjoy it so much more.

Overpriced, try and go through local operator - Firstly, this is an amazing experience. The kelotok boat, the guide, the food on the boat were top notch ! Experiencing the rainforest like this was a once in a lifetime experience, however, there are various things visitors should be aware of with this booking through viator 1) it will probably be cheaper to book through the local company themselves as I found out I was paying more than double what my fellow companions in the group were paying 2) It didn't seem that the high cost of this trip was really being invested into the boat or the crew! Very basic amenities for the high price including non flushing toilets but all the boats seemed like this. The crew and guide were locals living a very frugal life despite the price per person in this excursion! I suspect very little profit reaches them sadly and they are really the ones who make the trip what it is! NB seeing animals is not guaranteed. After the first day, we didn't see any orangutan despite visiting 2 other feeding camps. Heavy rain meant we couldn't experience the fireflies.

Good experience, too expensive - Great experience but the money I paid... The people for m my boat they paid less than half. Other people paid less than me for the whole boat. I cannot recommended hiring with you since the price I got it's so high. I cannot feeling quite dumb Staff were great
