- Gamat Bay - Gamat Bay is an amazing Nusa Penida snorkeling site, home to thousands of fish and underwater critters that have made a home for themselves amongst vibrant and colourful coral. From above the surface, the bay looks like any beach in Bali, but below the surface, it truly comes alive. If you’re interested in snorkeling in Nusa Penida, this amazing Bay is the place to do it. There is a diverse group of corals and coral mounds, almost all area of seabed from sandy Gamat Bay.
- Manta Bay - For the manta rays in Manta Bay Nusa Penida Bali, it is a type of Coral Manta (Manta alfredi). This type of manta is the second largest type of manta rays after the Oceanic Manta. Although it has a long tail, it is not poisonous, so swimming with manta rays is very safe. In addition to having a long tail, this manta ray has the largest brain when compared to other bony fish. They are very happy to interact with humans, therefore Manta Bay Snorkeling Nusa Penida is the best choice for snorkelers and divers to capture the best experience with these Mantas.
- Crystal Bay - Crystal Bay is, together with Gamat Bay, one of the best sites to go snorkeling in Nusa Penida. Discover the coral and marine life of this beautiful spot, you can see turtles quite regularly, as well as a lot of different fish and very colorful coral. This site can get very crowded during mola-mola ocean sunfish season (July-October). While it is a great snorkeling site to spot mola-molas, there are plenty of other sites around Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Where the chance to meet the exclusive fish is just as good and where the smaller number of snorkeler and boats makes the experience a lot nicer.
- Pasih Uug Beach - The journey to Broken Beach “Pasih Uug” is an overland adventure through Nusa Penida’s rugged limestone terrain. Most of the pathways are rocky and unpaved. The majority of people rent a motorbike to reach Broken Beach. It will take around two hours to reach this corner from the main harbour area in Nusa Penida’s north-western tip. Once you get to Broken Beach, you’ll be rewarded by a truly sweeping seascape.
- Angel’s Billabong - Angel’s Billabong located nearby Pasih Uug (Broken Beach), another popular site with unique limestone formations. The naturally formed rock lagoon offers a scenic seascape. You can descend into its crystal-clear rock pools for a swim or a soak, but only during low tide. The rock pools are one of the must-sees for visitors to Nusa Penida. The island itself is famous for its beautiful cliffs and pristine coastlines.
- Kelingking Beach - In Kelingking Beach you can enjoy the sweeping views from a purpose-built platform, which is bordered by bamboo fences. If you dare the challenging trek down to the beach, make sure it’s during low tide. Some sections of the path can be steep, requiring a bit of rock climbing, especially on the way back up. Locals have put rocks and bamboos to aid visitors over the years. Once you’ve reached the sand, you’ll have it all to yourself most of the time.

The West Nusa Penida Island Snorkeling Tour is a well-known tour package that offers the opportunity to snorkel in Gamat Bay, Manta Bay, and Crystal Bay, and includes visits to Broken Beach, Angels Billabong, and Kelingking Beach. Your adventure begins at 06.30 AM with a pickup from your hotel, from where you’ll be transported to Sanur Beach. From there, we’ll travel by speedboat to Nusa Penida Island. Our first stop is snorkeling in Gamat Bay, Manta Bay, and Crystal Bay, followed by a meal at a local restaurant.
Next, we’ll visit Broken Beach, a large cave that has lost its roof over the years. We’ll then proceed to Angel’s Billabong, a natural infinity pool on the island of Nusa Penida. Lastly, we’ll visit Kelingking Beach, where you can appreciate the beautiful cliff views with pristine white sandy beaches. Afterwards, we’ll take you back to the Nusa Penida port, return to Sanur Port, and a driver will be waiting to transport you back to your hotel.

Review - Snorkeling and west penida - The view was so good and snorkeling was fun where we were brought by a gentle current for around 150m in the last spot so effortlessly sightseeing

Amazing experience, highly recommend - My girlfriend and i were blown away with this tour. The locations are stunning, and with the logistics handled by the tour operator we were able to let loose and enjoy them fully. The drivers were great and got us everywhere we needed to be. I highly recommend this tour to everyone!

Good customer service!! - Excellent, the logistics set up were executed smoothly, even though I booked the tour one day before, from the driver at Bali to the driver at Nusa Penida.
DIPTA ARYA KUTAWARINGIN at Bali was amazing. As it was my bf’s birthday on the tour day, I texted him the day before if we could do a mini surprise for him. He planned it out, bought the cake and executed the birthday surprise at my villa’s doorstep successfully. He went the extra mile to give such a good customer service and surprised my bf!!!! Thank you!! :)
As for the tour package itself, most of the time spent was traveling in the car and not exploring the sites itself, nor were there any explanation/audio guide of the island (history) but mostly taking pictures. I hope we could have more time allocated to hike, roam and discover the island. Also, the waves were very huge and due to safety we didn’t manage to snorkel at Manta Bay, which I was looking very much forward to it! :( Do check if it’s the right season to snorkel next time!

Not worth it (read below) - Our trip started with a pick up from our hotel in Canggu. The driver didn’t speak English, he was just there to pick us up, that’s all. When we arrived at the departure point, that’s where the confusion occurred. He took us to the boat operator and they gave us a one way ticket to Nusa Penida - the trip summary said it was a return trip. Turns out the agent of this trip booked different boats for us to go there and back (operated by different companies), but didn’t even warn us about it.
We arrive at the island excited to see our tour guide... the “tour guide” didn’t speak English much, nor tried even talking to us.
The island itself is extremely polluted, the roads are so bad that it takes ages to get around. We spent more time in a car than at the actual locations for tourists (5-8min each).
Snorkeling with manta rays was GREAT and lunch was good - that’s all.
