Cuenca - Ingapirca - Riobamba

Ingapirca - In the morning, the tour guide will meet the group at the hotel or designated meeting point. The journey to Ingapirca will take approximately 90 minutes, offering a chance to enjoy the captivating highlands and stunning vistas of Ecuador’s Southern Andes. Ingapirca is the country’s most significant Inca site, featuring the main elliptical platform known as the “Sun’s Temple.” The tour will also explore the surrounding courtyards, terraces, and various other ruins.

Colta - After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, the tour will proceed along the Pan-American highway to Riobamba. A stop will be made in Colta, a quaint town where the Spanish established Ecuador’s first city. Visitors will also see “Balbanera,” the first Catholic church built by the Spanish. Additionally, a visit to a local artisan crafting “Tagua crafts,” also known as natural ivory, is included.

Riobamba - Baños - Route of the Waterfalls

Baños - The drive from Riobamba to Baños will take the group through the Avenue of the Volcanoes. If the weather is favorable, the snow-capped peaks of Tungurugua, Altar, and Chimborazo, Ecuador’s highest mountain, will be visible.

Upon reaching Baños, the tour will visit the Tree House with its “End of the World” swing. The journey continues with a one-hour drive, featuring several stops along the “Route of the Waterfalls.” After a two-kilometer hike, the group will arrive at the “Pailon del Diablo” waterfall, one of Ecuador’s ten largest waterfalls. Hotel check-in will follow, and the afternoon is free for relaxation at the hot springs or exploring the city and its surroundings independently.

Puyo and the Amazon Rainforest

Puyo - The tour will visit Puyo and the Cotococha area to delve into the Amazon Rainforest. A visit to a local Quichua family will provide insight into their traditions and culture. An optional smooth canoe ride down the river with a local expert guide is available.

Later, the “Yanacocha Rescue Center” will be visited, offering a chance to see local wildlife and learn about the vital conservation efforts being undertaken.

Baños - Devil’s Nose Mountain - Cuenca

Alausi - Embark on a memorable journey from Riobamba to Cuenca, taking in the awe-inspiring Andean landscapes. The first stop is the iconic Devil’s Nose Mountain, an engineering feat once traversed by Ecuador’s renowned train. Although the train is not currently operational, a hike through the area will provide the same breathtaking views of deep canyons, rugged mountains, and winding valleys that made this route famous.

Enjoy panoramic views as the expert guide shares the intriguing history of the railway and the importance of this region. After the hike, the scenic drive continues south, passing through picturesque highland villages and magnificent Andean landscapes before reaching Cuenca, Ecuador’s most beautiful colonial city.
