Inishbofin, or the ‘Island of the White Cow’, resides seven miles off the coast of Galway. Today, this enchanting island is a hub for tourists and a center for farming and fishing. Measuring 5.7km by 4km, bicycles are the preferred means of transportation. Upon docking on the pier, you can rent a bike and set off for your exploration. A regular ferry runs between the mainland Cleggan pier and Inishbofin throughout the year.

Inishbofin boasts several cycling trails, offering breathtaking views of the wild Atlantic landscape. The award-winning pristine beaches scattered with seashells and clear waters are perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving. The island is designated as a special conservation and protection area. A myriad of bird species call this island their breeding ground, with the Corncrake being the rarest amongst them. Researchers suggest that the first inhabitants of Inishbofin may have lived there between 8000 - 4000 B.C.
