For the geeks worth every penny, and every elbow in the back, great views from the front! - It was really very good, better than expected. Yes it gets very busy, but we waited for the next train so we were right at the front. We didn't get out, so did the round trip. Is clearly a popular tourist ride, I doubt many locals use it, even though that is what it was originally built for (see the original Hungerburg funicular Wikipedia, this new one is faster and carries more passengers per hour). Can imagine it's a nightmare to use to get to and from the Alpine Zoo though. Anyway, we enjoyed it!!

Fun and scenic ride. - This is a fun and easy way to get to the Hungerburg station to take the aerial tram to the top of Innsbruck. You board the funicular at the Congress station, which is an easy 5-minute walk from the Golden Roof. It’s a scenic ride up. When you exit at the Hungerburg station, there are a few restaurants. It’s also where you catch the aerial tram to the top, where the views are even more spectacular.

One day city trip from Munich to Innsbruck. - Loved going all the way to the top of the mountain on the cable lift, despite it taking two separate lift tickets at a fairly steep price.

Innsbruck funicular is so fun - Just do it. Extremely memorable experience with incredible scenic views. You can stop and visit St Theresa's Church along the way. We had to buy more tickets to go higher up so be prepared for that.
Amazing fun.

Top experience with fantastic views - Great experience. Taking the train up from the old town of Innsbruck is already an experience. And then up with the cable car. You can sit upstairs on the terrace in the sun. I had a delicious meal there with a great view of the city. Even saw the planes pass beneath you. Also great for walking

A pricey ride - Pretty pricey for the trip up the mountain. We'd bought tickets before we realised just how cramped the train up was and how long the wait was between each train. We thought it would be better going up later in the afternoon (about 4pm) but they really squeeze as many in as possible which spoils the experience. Some families with pushchairs got left behind as there was just no room for them. As one train goes down, the next cable car spits people out, so waiting for a quieter train isn't an option either. Views were great once we got up there.

Nice view but overpriced lift - This is a nice but short lift considering the price ticket. The view is amazing on the top and there are some nice places to eat.We just found it a bit expensive for two families with kids.

A nightmare. - We paid 48,50€ (combined ticket bahn + zoo) to make 5 minutes journey. Let me explain better: we went down from Hungerburg to the AlpenZoo, we visited the zoo (it took us a couple of hours) and on the way back (without any warning, without anything) we see the turnstiles blocked, flashing, red, and we hear a voice that tells us “FAILURE, GET AWAY FROM THE STATION”, without being given any explanation on how to return to the parking lot where we had put the car. Bottom line? We had to take two buses at 32 degrees in the shade, a total of 1 hour of travel, to make a piece that would take three minutes on the railway. Suspended in the middle of the mountain with a small child. Great Austrian efficiency, congratulations
