Great tour of the Highlands! - Our tour was so much fun. Not crowded into a tiny van. We had a great tour guide and driver. , Started in Inverness, headed to Urquhart Castle, stopped in Beauly and at the shaggy coo farm and finished with a small distillery tour at Singleton. Would have liked more time at Urquhart but we had to abide by the ship schedule. Didn't mind skipping the gift shop at Loch Ness as it is just a tourist trap, lol. Thank you, Thistle!

More than expected - I give this a 5 stars because of our tour guide Emma. She was full of information and because we were able to get started earlier than expected she added on another stop for the Outlander lover and when the tickets to the distillery were not at the time of the itinerary so we did the tasting and not the tour she added another additional stop for the Harry Potter lovers.

Great your of the Scottish Highlands - This was a fantastic trip and would highly recommend this trip to anyone going to Scotland! Our guide, Len, was amazing! He gave us the history of the area (Loch Ness, Urquhart and the Scottish Highlands) including fun stories to being the area alive. The side trip to see the highland cows (hairy coos) was a welcome surprise. The trip to the Singleton distillery was a highlight - great whisky and a really interesting tour! Len a very accommodating and tailored the trip to our interests. Take this tour and ask for Len as you're guide!

North Highland Tour - We had a wonderful day trip yesterday with Thistle Excursions. Our guide was Morag ( Sarah ) and she was so nice and answered all of our questions throughout the day. We first started our day enroute to the Singeltin Distillery but on our way we stopped at Robertsons Farm and saw West Highland cows and sheep and lamas. Then arrived at Singelton after driving through some cute towns. This was our first whiskey tour ever and they did a great job and the tastings were great. We then drove along Loche Ness to the Urquhart Castle. This was very interesting to learn about. Afterwards we headed to Iverness and Morag drove us around all of the highlights of the city. It's definitely worth a visit as it is a very charming and historical town. After we had walked awhile in town we headed back to our cruise ship. Morag did a great job and we would definitely recommend her and Thistle Excursions to anyone stopping in Invergordon.

Definitely recommend - Our tour guide June made our 8 hour tour fly by. The whiskey tour was fascinating. The Loche Ness location In conjunction with the castle destination was perfect. We enjoyed the variety of landscapes and June’s information of the history was great. Easy to locate tour off ship. Would definitely recommend .

The Barnett family - Thank you so much Chaz for showing us so much of your beautiful area. You drove us to some amazing places that we would never have found ourselves. Everywhere you took us was amazing. Thanks again.

Thistle Excursions, Yes I do! - We were on a cruise, and the ship was not offering the tour we wanted, so I did some research and found the perfect tour with Thistle Excursions. We were visiting the Loch ness, we had time to shop in town to buy souvenirs, see cows and some historical remains, and we taste some whiskey. What more to ask! Our guide was Moe, she was great and interesting, a real living encyclopedia about Scotland and also about the rest of the world! We were only 4 on our tour, so it was like a private tour without the price! Before the trip, I contacted Thistle Excursions by email, as I wanted to plan something special for my girlfriend during our tour. Maxine, the owner, contacted me quickly and said that she would be very happy to help me with my request. I wanted to do a wedding proposal to my girlfriend. Maxine did a brainstorm with her team, and she came back to me with some amazing ideas. We agreed to do the proposal in front of Loch Ness while visiting the Urquhart Castle. I had a special request to have a bagpiper, she found me the best, and she made all the arrangements for me. She also offered to have a photograph to do a video and some pictures of the special moment. David, who is also a guide, was on a tour with another group, and he met us at the location and took nice pictures and a great video. The bagpiper name was Dougie. He was the real thing. Wearing his bagpiper uniform with his kilt. He was a real gentleman, and he played like a real master, some classics and some special demands. I made my proposal, and my girlfriend said YES! We went for lunch after, and Dougie played the bagpipe while we were eating and drinking champagne, which Maxine generously offered to us. After this, we went to visit the Singleton distillery. It was really interesting, and it included a delicious tasting. In one day we really felt that we saw the best of what the Highlands have to offer while meeting with great local people. Thank you, Maxine, Moe, David, and Dougie, for making my dream proposal come true and for the amazing moment we experienced because of all of you. Don’t be afraid to book a tour with them, even if you are on a cruise with limited time. They were waiting for us when the boat arrived, and they made sure that we were back on the boat with plenty of time before departure. We would book another tour with them, ANYTIME!

Good tour - Good tour. Fun and knowledgeable guide. We had changes to the itinerary, but it worked out except that we did not see Lock Ness. We could have used a little more time at the Dunrobin Castle.
