Situated at a height of 1,350m, the man-made Aoos Fountain Lake spans 12 square kilometers. This creation in 1986 was aimed at energy generation. It is nestled between the Vikos-Aoos Geopark and Valia Calda National Parks. The surroundings showcase several petite natural lakes, highland meadows, and expansive 30m tall black pine forests alongside beech trees.
