Vikos Gorge (day 2)
Aristi - This is an easy route of exceptional natural beauty. The trail, which is wide and well-defined, passes through a lovely sycamore forest. Along the way, you’ll come across the old monastery of Agioi Anargyroi, built in 1658. This area is notable for artifacts indicating human presence dating back to the Paleolithic era. Midway through the route, visitors can take a break to rest, refill their canteens, and even swim in the Voidomatis River.
Papingo Rock Pools - Known as “Ovires” or “Kolimbithres,” these small natural pools between the villages of Mikro Papigko and Megalo Papigko were formed by the natural flow of the Rogovou stream.
Papigko - The village of Papigo is situated at the base of Mount Astrakas. It is divided into two settlements, Megalo and Mikro Papigo, which are two kilometers apart. A striking feature of the landscape is the five imposing “towers” of Astraka that rise above the settlements.

Kipoi - The village of Kipoi is perched on a hill, located 39 km from the city of Ioannina. The village is known for its gardens and a river with stone bridges.
Beloi Viewpoint - This is one of the most famous and popular routes in Zagori, featuring the Vradeto Steps, one of the most impressive constructions in all of Epirus. The trail consists of 1,500 steps and 39 turns. After passing through the village of Vradeto, the route leads to the Beloi viewpoint, offering the most stunning view of Vikos Gorge.
Monodendri - This village is situated on the southwest side of Vikos Gorge at an altitude of 1,060 meters, providing spots for breathtaking views of the gorge.
