The journey from Ipoh to OUI is approximately 1.5 hours.

• Bukit Merah Orangutan Island Foundation - The tour includes the first boat ride to the island. Visitors will walk through a semi-circular steel-fence tunnel enclosure, where humans appear to be in a cage, allowing them to observe the orangutans freely roaming in the trees, on the grass, near the bushes, or by the lake.

A guide from the Bukit Merah Orangutan Island Foundation will provide detailed information about these endangered animals, so be sure to follow them as they move from one point to another.

The island visit lasts around 60 minutes.
*If Orangutan Island experiences low water levels or closure, the tour will instead visit the heritage town of Taiping.

• Matang - After the island visit, there will be a 30-minute drive to the next destination.
• Hun Leng Heong Hang - Here, visitors will be amazed by the enormous incense sticks made for ceremonial purposes, typically lit during major festivals for the Chinese community. Visitors can observe the workers as they meticulously add layers and colors, a process that can take months to complete.
• Matang Mangrove Forest Reserve - A 15-minute drive leads to the mangrove forest, where a stop at a charcoal factory is included. Visitors will learn about the industry and the methods used to produce wood charcoal in large dome-shaped igloo-like kilns.
• Taiping Lake Gardens - Known as one of the most beautiful gardens in then Malaya, it is considered the first lake garden in Malaya. A visit to Taiping is incomplete without a stroll to enjoy the magnificent views here.
