Amazing Amazon Tour - This is an amazing company!!! I traveled to Iquitos solo, so I was a little hesitant about going on a 4 day tour into the amazon alone, however it ended up being such a peaceful and eye-opening experience. The amazon is amazing in itself, but my guide Jiro was just an overall great person and incredibly knowledgable! This is a company owned by a family in the Amazon, with the lodge being on the family's property. Being guided by a local made the experience so much more genuine plus Jiro and his family made me feel so safe and cared for. I felt like part of the family!! I got to decide what I wanted out of my tour and Jiro made sure that we did everything I wanted to do. This included swimming in the amazon river, Piranha fishing, seeing pink dolphins, climbing jungle vines, visiting indigenous communities, and visiting a monkey sanctuary! On top of treating me like family, I ended up leaving my passport in the amazon lol and Jiro organized picking it up for me and mailing it to me all the way to Lima. Overall this company and guides are just such great people! I feel lucky to have come across such a lovely company.

CONVIENANT and FAIR PRICES - Hi,. Recently we stayed in Iquitos first place total rip off. 70 soles. There is CHEAPER but for the record you can go further out and pay 20 soles a night be 100m from the MAIN plaza and 100m from HILTON your paying for prime zone. Very friendly people. And "open minded" experienced. Quick to service. I got two rooms for price of one. We were allow to stay got a FREE DAY as check out was supposed to be 1pm but flight didnt leave until 11pm. We were told no problem just hang out in ONE ROOM. With my business partner so that was great. Also theses guy offer AYAHUASCA , RIVER TOURS, KAMBO....its all in one. You can spend time and money looking for a better deal. But LA SELVA VIDA (HOSTEL) and Tropical Adventures & Expeditions work from the same place. Its great...if you want to save time and fair prices. Groups pay alot less. Only REAL downer for me was the shower. I was getting up LATE and on 5th floor so YOU HAVE TO TIME IT. As with any HOSTEL unless in 5 hotel you can expect water pressure problems in any hotel in the main centre. But was JUST TIMING...for that and the city is working on improving water quality and pressure. Shower, Bed, TV, FAN ..WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? And excellent has ENGLISH SPEAKING staff which normally places cost alot for that. For 40 soles 15USD a night. But there is MORE EXPENSIVE rooms with AIRCON. etc. Most of the time on HOLIDAY you spend OUT SIDE. Learnt that lession paying alot more than I need for services I never used in more expensive places! So YES we did KAMBO in HOSTEL..ideally Id recommend the jungle to do it. But we were short of time. And had done another river tour with another company SOUNDED CHEAP but once IN THE BOAT...prices seemed to change! We didnt PLAN it so I recommend you do and get a FIXED price for all activites on a DAY TRIP with Tropical Adventures & Expeditions is your better option. Ive done them before so wasnt so much for me. But we PAID for lack or organizing. Recommend Tropical Adventures & Expeditions and La Selva VIda Hostel. Anyone saying bad things is likely used to OTHER COUNTRIES and FANCY HOTELS this is PERU friends with its own standard. Ive lived here long enough to know a FAIR DEAL when I see one. For this reason I recommend Tropical Adventures & Expeditions as a STARTING POINT to PLAN. If not a complete package is available. In 5 days you will know all of Iquitos. Many places offer the same tours for more..NEVER TRUST A FAT TOUR GUIDE ! Chances out that your going to be over paying for the same services offered here.

Spectacular Adventure for a Solo Young Woman - I have only wonderful things to say about my tour with Tropical Adventures and Expeditions! In the USA, I work as a mountain guide, and considering that it is my profession, my standards for guiding are high and I was very impressed by this company. I am a young woman traveling alone on a tight budget and for a very fair price I had my own personal guide for 3 days in the Amazon jungle. My guide, Julio, was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, flexible with the itinerary, hard working, and very respectful (incredibly important to me as a solo young lady traveller!). I requested to meet other travelers, and so Tropical Adventures And Expeditions arranged my tour to where I was able to join up with other tour groups and stay at an eco lodge with other guests. In between the group tours, Julio went above and beyond offering to take me on some private canoe tours through the jungle and on a night hike! The eco lodge where was stayed had delicious food and functional mosquito netting in the rooms. I saw SO much wildlife on my tour! Monkey, sloths, frogs, a dolphin, and more birds than I could ever hope to count! I was very impressed by this company’s professionalism and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks again Julio and Reynel for the jungle adventure! It was literally a dream come true!

Anaconda Group, 9 Spaniards almost Amazonian - Many thanks to the King of the Jungle and the entire Tropical Adventures team for how they received us and how they treated us. We are super happy to have discovered the Amazon with them. We have taken walks through the jungle, walks on the Amazon River and its tributaries, medical interpretation of local plants, excursions to local communities... 5 days goes a long way. We leave with unforgettable memories of the jungle! In the cabins we rested wonderfully with sounds of the jungle, and we ate amazingly. 10/10 for everything we have eaten, super complete, exotic and exquisite. We recommend this adventure with the entire Tropical team who have made us spend some incredible days!

Nice retreat but not too adventurous - We spent 4 days with tropical adventures and expeditions. It was a fun 4 days but in hindsight quite expensive for not going deep into the amazon. This place is only just inside of the jungle and there is quite civilised villages all around including phone towers. You basically just stay at their lodge while your there with a few low key activities each day. A family with young children was staying at the lodge at the same time as us. The smallest boy was extremely irritating and constantly screaming for no reason (no one else seemed to care and just left him to keep going) The food is also basic and there was usually only just enough (I could have gone for a bit more) One of the activities was to visit a "native village". This was a bit of a letdown as we just went at a small area with stalls set up and a few people who clearly just dressed up for the occasion and tried to sell us their crafts. We never saw any village. We did get to try a blow gun which was fun. The main letdown with this place was probably that I was expecting more of an adventurous expedition (as the name implies) and it was more like a slow family friendly tour only just inside the edge of the amazon. The main guide was friendly and helpful and after the family left we got to sleep in the jungle for one night. The animals were a lot of fun! They had lots of monkeys, birds and even a sloth that were all friendly with humans and lived free from captivity. If your looking for a wild and adventurous jungle experience I wouldn't recommend these guys however if you just want a few relaxing days and some activities this company might be the one for you.
