A guaranteed departure tour where a luxury minibus takes you to the Aurora Basecamp, Northern Lights Observatory, where Northern Lights have been captured in large glass tubes for you to explore in a comfortable inside setting. The Observatory is located in the rugged lava fields of Reykjanes Geopark. Purposefully built away from light pollution it also offers an optimal viewing platform for the natural Northern Lights, weather allowing.
At Aurora Basecamp you will be guided through the Dark Park, an interactive information display inside a dome simulating the outside without the harsh weather. From the Dark Park we step outside into the vast lava fields of Reykjanes Geopark. We’ll stay warm by the open fire outside, or enjoy a complimentary hot drink inside the warm and cosy Aurora Lounge.
If viewing conditions for the natural Northern Lights are not optimal at the Aurora Basecamp Observatory platform the tour will continue on a hunt for the best location.
