Girlies getaway🦗 - i had the best experience with these guys for my trip to K2 along with my girls, they took care of so many things even after we were thousands of ft higher from sea level. The mountains felt more like home with them because that’s how professional these people are. Highly recommend for all your vacations and girlie’s getaway.🏔️

Birthday on K2 Base Camp Trek - K2 Base Camp with Trango Adventures for my 55th birthday was epic. The chef even baked a cake for me on the trail. I am a solo traveler and the crew took excellent care of me. Everything was handled with meticulous detail, from my pick up at the airport in Islamabad to my drop off 3 weeks later. Hotels were excellent in Islamabad and Skardu. Food in the hotels and on the trail was amazing. My guide Iqbal Baig is knowledgeable, kind and patient. The beauty I saw was inspiring. I had such a great time I’m planning Snow Lake summer of 2026.

K2 base camp - It’s been a dream to visit K2 base camp in Pakistan. It has been an outstanding experience travelling with Trango Adventures, specialising in trekking and mountaineering expeditions. They have gained reputation for its professionalism, local expertise and dedication to delivering memorable adventures. I got to engage in Balti culture, the trek begins in Baltistan region and the guides and support staff were from local villages. The hospitality they provided with and warmth, together with their deep connection to the land gave a unique cultural insight. Trango Adventure team is composed of experienced locals having extensive knowledge of Karakoram, they provide insightful commentary on the region’s history, culture and environment. The crew’s knowledge of high-altitude trekking and their attention to safety create a sense of security, essential in such an extreme landscape. They have provided with proper accommodation, smooth transitions between camps, and time to absorb stunning surroundings. They given amazing management from permits to transportation, meals and accommodation in tent. As the trek to K2 base camp in known for its challenging condition, Trango Adventure ensure safety as top priority. Ensure that the trekkers are as comfortabl as possible in rugged environment.

K2 trekking - In July 2024, I did the trek to the K2 base camp with the agency Trango Adventures. It had been recommended to me by a friend, and I had also read good reviews online. The tourist services and treatment during the trek were excellent, just as I expected. I believe the added value comes from the people who work for the agency, from Shadid, who assists you from the very first contact via email, to Abbas, who welcomes you at the airport in Islamabad, and all the staff in Skardu, including Mr. Shabbir, Mr. Suliman, Saq Lain, the guides Hamid and Sibtain, and the many collaborators, guides, assistant guides, cooks, and porters who work in great harmony and go above and beyond to make you feel at home even when you're at an altitude of 5,000 meters. As a trekker and photographer, I feel very fortunate to have met them and can only recommend them for a trek in the splendid mountains of Baltistan.

Exceptional company, will use again next year! - Our experience with Trango Adventures was truly exceptional. Every member of the crew was highly skilled, courteous, and attentive to our every need, ensuring that our journey was smooth and enjoyable. Our guide, Mr Hamid, frequently demonstrated his considerable expertise, especially when compared to guides from other expeditions. Thanks to his foresight and decision-making, we avoided missteps such as falling into rivers or setting off late, which might have exposed us to treacherous road conditions due to rising water levels. We also sidestepped unnecessary risks while traversing the glacier for 15 days, where collapsing ice and unexpected crevasses posed significant dangers. Mr Mubashir, our assistant guide, was equally impressive. His vast knowledge of politics, history, and current affairs made for stimulating and engaging conversations throughout the expedition. Mr Abas, our chief cook, was not only kind-hearted but also prepared excellent meals. His attentiveness, alongside the rest of the crew, was instrumental in nursing my son back to health when he experienced stomach issues and nausea. This was in stark contrast to our experience the previous year in Nepal, where the crew lacked similar expertise in dealing with such matters. The entire operation was impeccably organised, and I look forward to returning to Pakistan with Trango Adventures once again.

K2 base camp with Trango Adventures - We had a good experience doing the K2 base camp trek with Trango Adventures. Communication was very good leading up to the trek, and they quickly provided all the documents we needed to apply for our visa. They provided airport pick-up and drop-off despite us arriving a day earlier and leaving a day later than the standard itinerary, and the hotels in both Islamabad and Skardu were comfortable. We did the trek at the end of the season which meant that it wasn’t too crowded, with a maximum of two other groups sharing the campsites with us. On our day walk from Concordia to Broad Peak base camp we were the only group on the trail in perfect conditions. We had an excellent guide and support crew, who did everything they could to accommodate our needs and were always friendly and cheerful. The food was excellent and varied and there was plenty of it. The only aspect that could be improved was the condition of the tents. One tent had a broken pole and another a minor tear in the porch. The ground sheets were very worn with a few small holes, and not at all waterproof. This meant that our sleeping mats and anything else left on the groundsheet overnight got wet. This occurred even when the ground was relatively dry and dusty, but was particularly problematic when sleeping on exposed wet ice on the glacier, where our stuff got very wet on several occasions. Either an extra tarpaulin under the tent or a foam mat inside the tent would really help in alleviating this issue. There were no pegs provided for the tents, so when we experienced a few days of wet weather, the outside fly sheet would rest on the inner tent and soak it, again meaning that water got inside the tent. It was also near impossible to keep the porch in place without pegs, and our boots ended up getting a bit wet after it collapsed one evening. We found a few spare pegs lying about at Urdukas and this made a big difference to the weather resilience of the tents for the rest of the trek. We noticed that another group were provided with a small container of water with a tap for hand washing. Something similar for our group would have been really useful. Although it was advertised that our trek would start and finish from Johla, it turned out that the road between Askoli and Johla had been closed for the entire 2024 season which added an extra day’s walking each way. This proved a bit difficult to fit into our scheduled itinerary, but it worked out in the end. Our understanding is that the road is not due to open in the near future, so it may be that future trekking itineraries need to have a couple of extra days added.

K2 base camp and Gondogoro Pass - Just back and still processing this trip. Not my first trek, certainly the hardest. Pakistan is an arduous undertaking. It can be very hot (it was, very), the camp to camp to camp distances are often long (15-20km) and although the gradient and general mountaineering aspect is not extreme, the conditions underfoot make for slow going. If you you’ve done Everest base camp, then every day, except the first two or three, is EBC. The views are unparalleled. Famously named peaks present themselves every day. Expect congested, hectic and filthy campsites, but incredibly loyal and hardworking trek crew who, we certainly felt, would do anything for you. A hint: always make a very early start each morning, 6am walking at the latest. We also did Gondogoro. Now, that WAS a challenge. But it must be endured, because the Hushey. Valley descent is beautiful. Retracing one’s steps back down the Baltoro would be a chore. You MUST have a high level of fitness for this. It is not enough just be out walking regularly and feel like you’re in “good shape”. You need to be pounding g the gym for months beforehand.
