The approach viaducts (spanning Ortaköy and Beylerbeyi) were completed in May 1973. The first vehicle crossing test took place on June 8, 1973. It was inaugurated by President Fahri Korutürk on October 30, 1973, marking the 50th anniversary of the Republic’s proclamation.
- Dolmabahce Palace - Constructed by the thirty-first Ottoman Sultan, Sultan Abdülmecid, Dolmabahçe Palace was designed with a Western influence to align with the Ottoman modernization goals. It opened on June 7, 1856, after 13 years of construction, which began on June 13, 1843.
- Ciragan Palace Kempinski - Ibrahim Pasha, after marrying the Sultan’s daughter Fatma Sultan, built the first structure named “Çırağan” for his beloved wife, the “Çırağan Mansion”. In the 18th century, it was the most renowned structure on the Bosphorus and a favorite spot for the seven sultans who reigned during that century.
- Maiden’s Tower - In the 5th century BC, a customs point was established on the islet where the tower now stands, and a tower was erected to inspect ships from the Black Sea and collect taxes. In the 12th century, Eastern Roman Emperor Manuel I Komnenos built a defensive tower on the islet.
- Beylerbeyi Palace - Designed as a summer residence for Ottoman sultans and a state guest house for foreign dignitaries, Beylerbeyi Palace was constructed at the behest of Sultan Abdülaziz (1861-1876).
- Rumeli Fortress - RUMELI HİSARI. Initiated in March 1452 by Fatih Sultan Mehmet to control ships passing through the Bosphorus, the fortress was completed in August of the same year. Historical records indicate that 300 masters, 700-800 workers, and 200 coachmen, boatmen, and transporters were involved in its construction.
- Anadolu Hisari Fort - Situated at the narrowest point of the Bosphorus, directly across from Rumeli Hisarı, Anadolu Hisarı was built by Yıldırım Bayezid in 1395. This significant historical structure was constructed as a defense against potential threats to Anatolia from the Bosphorus.
- Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge - The bridge’s foundation was laid on May 29, 1985, with construction commencing on December 4, 1985. This significant project, currently ranked 14th among the world’s largest steel suspension bridges, was opened on July 3, 1988, by Prime Minister Turgut Özal.
- Buyuk Mecidiye Cami - Built by Armenian architect Nigoğos Balyan in 1853 for Sultan Abdülmecid, the mosque features two sections typical of imperial mosques: the harim and the sultan’s section. Its wide and high windows are designed to capture the changing lights of the Bosphorus.
