• Istanbul - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Istanbul early in the morning and transferred to the airport for their flight. The flight duration is approximately one hour. Upon arrival, they will be greeted by their guide and vehicle for a one-hour drive to explore Pamukkale. Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli province in southwestern Turkey. The area is renowned for its hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by flowing water. Today, it is a leading tourist destination due to its Pamukkale travertines, accommodation facilities, thermal baths, and natural and historical attractions.

• Pamukkale - The tour begins with a visit to the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Unlike other ancient cities, Hierapolis is situated on solid limestone layers formed by limestone water flowing over centuries. “Hierapolis” means “sacred city,” named for its numerous temples. Today, the theatre, Apollo temple, and Necropolis are the key attractions in Hierapolis.

• Pamukkale - During the tour, visitors will explore the Necropolis (Cemetery) of Hierapolis, one of the largest ancient cemeteries in Anatolia, along with the Roman Bath, Domitian Gate, Main Street, and Byzantium Gate. They will then walk to the natural warm water terraces formed by calcium-rich warm water. The water temperature is about 35 Celsius. Guests will have the opportunity to see the stunning white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, adjacent to the ruins of Hierapolis. The unique effect is created when water from the hot springs loses carbon dioxide as it flows down the slopes, leaving limestone deposits. The layers of white calcium carbonate, built up in steps on the plateau, gave the site its name, Pamukkale (cotton castle). Guests will have free time to swim in the antique Cleopatra’s Pool (OPTIONAL).

• Cleopatra Pools - Please remember to bring swimwear. While walking on the travertines, be cautious to avoid injuries. The summer period is hot and dry, so please bring a hat and sunscreen.

• Istanbul - At the end of the tour, guests will be taken back to Denizli Airport for their flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, they will be met and returned to their hotel.
