Wonderful time with Ezgi in Istanbul - We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Ezgi. She was very informative and it was obvious she enjoyed giving the tour. She picked the order of the stops to minimize wait times which was very helpful. In addition to showing us the historic sites she shared info on history and culture. The bonus was that she took many pictures of our group and sent those shorting after out tour ended. Finally she was very flexible with the itinerary to make sure we saw what was most important to us. Even though our hotel was very close to the historic sites it was very helpful to have Ezgi guide us.

Hazal our tour guide leveled up our holiday in Istanbul! - This is a must, especially if you want to learn new things as you walk along. We had the pleasure of getting Hazal as our tour guide, and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about most things. She was great with our kids, it was like walking around with a family friend. It certainly made our experience much better!

Excellent guided tour with Sema. Highly recommend! - Found Guided Istanbul Tours on Trip Advisor. Based on the multiple excellent reviews we took the leap and booked a 1 day tour based on the travel itinerary and listed places that we cared about seeing. Given that we were a party of 4- with 2 kids (ages 10 & 9), preferred to get a private tour guide and cost us around $225/250 (not including tickets to sites) We had an exceptional one-day guided tour of Istanbul with Sema for our family of four, including two kids aged 9 and 10. Sema was fantastic—she spoke excellent English and was incredibly patient and accommodating, tailoring the itinerary to suit our needs and saving us money in the process. As Muslims, we could enter the mosques for free during prayer times, so Sema adjusted our schedule accordingly, allowing us to visit the Basilica Cistern instead, where we bypassed a long line thanks to her priority access. This was a big plus, as half of the cruises had docked that day, meaning over 2,000 tourists were out and about, causing long queues everywhere. She was also very thoughtful and waited for us while we prayed at Hagia Sophia, saving us €30 per person! Her knowledge of history is impressive, and it was evident during her detailed presentations at Topkapi Palace, which took at least two hours to fully appreciate. Sema also recommended a great local Döner spot on our way to the Grand Bazaar, where she guided us to reasonably priced shops. She even advised us on negotiating for discounts, which was incredibly helpful. Keep in mind that the tour is entirely on foot and lasts around seven hours, so be prepared with comfortable shoes, hats, and sunglasses. Sema also offered great tips for planning the rest of our trip, making her an excellent resource beyond the tour. I highly recommend this tour and suggest requesting Sema if possible—you won’t be disappointed!

Like having a friend showing you around their city! - I ended a longer guided tour in Istanbul and booked an extra night before heading home. This trip was completely last-minute, and I had no idea what to expect, except that I’d wanted to see some of the main attractions in this area. Serendipity matched me up with Ezgi, who was so pleasant and easygoing that it felt like a good friend was showing me around her city. Our convos were the perfect balance between history and current events. I really learned a lot about this place that I wouldn’t have picked up in a guidebook. We visited Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, along with the Spice Market and Grand Bazaar. It was the exact perfect amount of time for me at each! In addition, we had lunch at the Pudding Shop, and it was the fastest and best service I’ve received on this entire trip, not to mention yummy food. What I really enjoyed about this tour is that Ezgi also set me up with enough knowledge and comfort to wander this area myself tomorrow (she showed me how to use the tram system and which stop I’ll use to get off near the hamam I’d like to visit, and how to catch a Bosphorus boat tour). It’s so valuable to have someone local show you the ropes to give you enough confidence to visit or revisit a few places on your own. I feel like I could have asked her to show me anything, and she would have found a way to make it happen. And finally, I’ve found my photographer soulmate! Someone who knows exactly how to take a photo of me and make me look good. 😊 I was sad to say goodbye, but I’ve definitely made a friend in Istanbul! I would absolutely recommend Ezgi to show you around while you’re here.
