Blue Mosque - The Blue Mosque, built in the early 1600s for Sultan Ahmet I of the Ottoman Empire, is a magnificent architectural masterpiece with remarkably delicate proportions for such a large structure. Interestingly, locals never refer to it as the Blue Mosque; we call it Sultan Ahmet Mosque (Camii). There is a wealth of fascinating information about this beautiful mosque that I would love to share with you.

Topkapi Palace - Topkapi Palace, one of the world’s largest surviving palaces, was constructed between 1460 and 1478 under the orders of Sultan Mehmed II, a few years after he conquered Constantinople. The palace served as the residence of the Ottoman Sultans for nearly four centuries and was also the administrative and educational center of the state. The Topkapi Palace complex includes four main courtyards and numerous smaller buildings. Female members of the Sultan’s family resided in the harem, and leading state officials, including the Grand Vizier, held meetings in the Imperial Council building. The Topkapi Palace is vast and requires several hours to explore. It resembles a small village with many stories and intrigues to uncover. As private tour guides, we have the privilege of skipping the long lines at museums, including the Topkapi Palace, which is also a museum.

Basilica Cistern - The Basilica Cistern, located in Sultanahmet, the heart of Istanbul, is a very mysterious place. It has been used as a venue in many movies and series, including the 2016 film Inferno, starring Tom Hanks, which was adapted from Dan Brown’s book. The Basilica Cistern, also known as the Basilica Palace, is one of the most significant structures in Istanbul’s history. The features of the columns inside, especially the inverted Medusa head, attract a lot of attention. The cistern is named after the basilica that once stood where it was built. If you would like more detailed information about this place, please book our private guided tour to join me in discovering it. Remember, a private guide can skip the lines, handle your tickets, and make your limited time worthwhile.

Hippodrome - The Byzantine Hippodrome, now known as Sultanahmet Square, was a venue for chariot races during the Roman Empire. It features the Egyptian Column from the Byzantine Empire era and the German Fountain.
