Duration: 5 hours

Highlights
  • Corinth Canal - We will begin with a drive along the coast. On the way you will view of some Greek seaside villages and the island of Salamis (where the historical naval battle took place between the Athenians and the Persians).
Our first stop the Corinth Canal. Opened in 1892 separating the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of Greece and connecting the Saronic Gulf to the Corinthian Sea. You will have time to walk across on a pedestrian bridge to admire the canal closer, (if you’re game) on some days bungee jumping is an option.
  • Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - Ancient Corinth, located at the foot of the hill includes the Roman Agora of Corinth, the temple of God Apollo and a small museum. Apart from its archaeological and historical interest Ancient Corinth is also one of the most popular religious destinations in Greece as this was where the Apostle Paul preached Christianity, was judged by the tribunal in the Agora and established the best organized Christian church of that period.
  • Temple of Apollo - The temple of Apollo at Corinth is one of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland. Built around 560 B.C.E., of local monolithic limestone on top of an imposing, rocky hill to the north of Acrocorinth, the Archaic temple was an emblem for the Greek city of Corinth, reflecting its growth and prosperity.
  • Acrocorinth - Ancient Corinth is dominated by the hill of Acrocorinth, the oldest and largest castle in southern Greece. We will stop here for some incredible photos.
  • Athens - We will drive back to Athens.

Half day Corinth - Dem picked us up in an immaculate car & drove us to ancient Korinth. The ride was wonderful and Dem was very informative about the history of Greece, Athens, and Korinth. In addition, he fielded all sorts of questions we had about general life in Greece & was an excellent sport. Highly recommend!

Outstanding half day exploring memorable sites - This was one of our favorite days during our trip! The area was fascinating and memorable. We loved hiking up the paths and exploring the castle, and the beautiful views at every turn. Our guide, Petros, was knowledgable, helpful, considerate, prompt, and made our drive time both informative and engaging. We appreciated his stories and insights into local history and culture, and his recommendations for what to see, do, and taste during our remaining days in Greece. We highly recommend this half day trip!

Great private tour - Aristotelis did a fantastic job -- he's very polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Athens and its history. After having this private tour, I was inspired to do more private tours -- both for this trip and future trips. Great experience 10/10!

Great tour but felt rushed - Tour guide was good but all felt a bit rushed for time - perhaps because it was a bank holiday weekend

Driver couldn’t enter Corinth ruins therefore we didn’t get the full detailed history and expertise. - The weather limited our experience in Corinth. It was pouring rain. The trip was a long drive from Athens and there was little to do during the drive.
