Nemea - Modern Nemea it still boasts 3,500 years of wine making history. If you are a wine lover, this region is a perfect destination for you. With several wineries and cultural sites to visit, the area is the absolute place to explore. We will visit three popular wineries and we taste and learn about their products. In each winery we can spent 60min but we are flexible.
Between our visit to wineries we can visit (optional) the Archaeological site of Ancient Nemea (the unique Zeus temple and the stadium) -
Ancient Nemea - While the region is famous for its wine, it’s also well known for its incredible cultural sites, including that of Ancient Nemea, a must-see. A vast archaeological site, it includes not only the Sanctuary of Zeus but also the stadium where the Nemean Games took place, which honored the ancient Greek god. The stadium has recently been discovered. It is notable for its well-preserved vaulted entrance tunnel, dated to about 320 BC, with ancient graffiti on the walls. Legend has it that it was also the place where Hercules slew the Nemean lion.

Embark on a wine tour and explore the famous wineries in Kleones, Nemea, Argos starting from Athens or Nafplion.
Your wine journey begins from your location (Athens, Piraeus, or Nafplion) and heads towards Peloponnese via the Corinth Canal with a brief halt.
The Winery tour in Greece includes visits to up to three diverse wineries where we explore their cellars and understand their distinct varieties. We sample their wines and if you’re interested, we can purchase their products for a price which is half the market rate. Additionally, we visit Ancient Nema, an extraordinary archaeological site, inclusive of the Zeus temple, Museum & Stadium and the distinctive Monastery / fort of Dormitory Rock in modern Nemea that offers a panoramic view of the vineyards.
The tour proceeds to Nemea for an optional lunch at a traditional Greek restaurant serving authentic Greek cuisine.
Payment options are flexible; you can either make a full payment at the time of your booking or reserve your tour by paying only a 50% deposit at a reduced rate (than Options / Full Pay) and settle the remaining 50% balance on your tour date. Additional info can be seen here.
- We will visit 3 wineries. Your tour is private, flexible & available from Athens or Piraeus. However we only request to have in mind the agreement hours. But if you like to extend it, please make a fair arrangement with your tour driver/ leader. Additional charge per hour is 30€ (Sedan) - 45€ (Minivan) - 60€ (Minibus).
- You Have the options of 3 different Vehicles types: Sedan/ Suv up to 3 adults or family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids - up to 12 years old free) - Minivan ( from 1 to 7 persons - 2 kids/ up to 12 years old free ) - Minibus ( from 1 to 14 persons - 2 kids/ up to 12 years old free). Price varies by Group Size or Vehicle type.
- The tour driver leader is not a licensed archaeologist guide to accompany you on your walk to Nemea archaeological site or museum.
