Peloponnese World Tour - This past June we scheduled a day-long tour for two to the Peloponnese through Welcome Pickups. Glykeria picked us up from the hotel on time and immediately became our honorary Greek Grandma, driver, and tour guide. She first took us to Corinth Canal and asked us if we were hungry. We said “No, we had a big breakfast” as we had just eaten. She said, “So what” and handed us meat chunks on a stick. We learned right then that when you’re offered food in Greece, you take it! It was such a delicious treat, and we were grateful. That set the tone for the trip that we were about to be spoiled. The next stop was the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth where we saw marble statues and gardens. As for ruins in Corinth itself we saw the Temple of Apollo, Central Entrance to the Northwest Shops, etc. She parked in the shade as we toured around the ruins at our leisure, no time limit or anything. The Archeological Site of Mycenae was the following location and wow, I’m so glad we were able to visit these ruins! It is massive - we saw the Lion’s Gate entrance to the Citadel, the Citadel itself, the North Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon/Treasury of Atreus, etc. It was really a great experience and again Glykeria gave us all the time we needed to explore and climb. The next place she took us was the Theater of Epidarus, which lived up to the hype. It was so cool and fun to climb and test the acoustics. After that we went to the Venetian Palamidi Fortress. She drove to the top so we didn’t climb the stairs even though we totally would have done that if it wasn’t so hot. So she kind of saved us from heatstroke. The views were spectacular and scrambling around the mazes of ruins in the fortress was a blast. We were the only people there. Then she drove us down to Nafplio Village (which is adorable and I can’t believe people get to live there) and dropped us off to explore. We wandered the charming streets, did some shopping and found a seafood spot to eat on the water. She patiently waited and picked us up after our meal. It was time to drive back, and she kept the conversation going the whole time with trivia and stories about the places we went and other fun things to do. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and were grateful she was agreeable to us expanding the itinerary. Would use Welcome Pickups again!

Cloudburst - Nice tour with friendly driver. Visited beautiful locations with fantastic views. Too bad about the cloudburst in Nafplio. Other than that it was a nice day.

Excellent reliable transfer service - Excellent service for transfers from airport to port or town centre. Good communication and waiting not a problem for a very delayed flight. Second year have used this company because they are very reliable.

Private Day to Nafplio - Fanis was a very professional driver and knowledgeable about the region. It was nice to have the schedule completely dependent on us and our needs and to not be part of a massive tour group. We hired him for the following day to take us Cape Sounion. This was nice but after spending so much of the past two weeks in Turkey and Greece, we probably should have just spent the entire day sitting by Lake Vouliagmeni once he showed it to us. We had seen plenty of ruin at this point and the relaxation was much needed. Keep in mind that you are hiring a driver not a licensed tour guide. In Greece "tour guides" have intensive training and are certified by the state.

Worth the drive out of the city of Athens - Our driver was Marios Kouloufakos , he was really nice. He picked up us on time to our Airbnb with fruits & water waiting for us in the car. Our visit to Nafplio & Pelopenese was during the closure of all tourists site, so basically we didn’t get to see anything but not the driver or company’s fault. We still to take some pictures of temple of Apollo & the magnificent castle of Corinth , although closed we were treated with its amazing views. Old town of Nafplio was only nice but barely any people so after buying our to go sandwich we hike the 1000 stairs Fortress of Palamidi, although closed we were treated again with the wonderful views of the city. Going back to Athens , we passed by lots of orchards selling their oranges on the road. Marios stopped & we took pictures in the orchard & surprisingly the owner gave us freshly picked oranges. Highly recommended company ! I definitely use your company again on our next trip.

Epidurus and Corinth Day trip - We had a special itinerary, things we wanted to see and tickets to a play at the theater of Epidurus. Our driver, Michalis, was friendly and fun, taking little detours to show us parts of the countryside and cities that he thought we might enjoy. After the play he took us to a taverna on a hillside so we could relax with a glass of wine and look out a spectacular view. I highly recommend this experience.
