Timed right - Riding the bus and seeing the sights in the short amount of time we were given for the cruise excursion.

Great time and tour - We took the this tour on June 6, 2024 from our cruise with Royal Caribbean. Our guide, Christen, did a great job explaining what we needed to do and the history of Civitavecchia and Rome prior to arriving in Rome. Our driver was great too! We had a great time and will definitely recommend this tour to others taking this cruise or just visiting Rome.

We missed the bus... - The best part of this excursion was the round-trip bus ride from the cruise port to Rome. We actually never got on the Hop-On/Hop-Off bus because we walked to Vatican City when the charter bus dropped us off in the city. I heard from other guests on the charter bus that their experiences were NOT great. Not enough buses to accommodate all of the people...especially if you hopped off to see the sites.

Very disappointing - Bus was not full so waiting around to try and get more guests at each stop. Have done other hop on hop offs, this one was terrible

What a cluster - So the transfer - so unorganized I can’t even describe how discombobulating it was - also adults being treated like children - don’t stand here - no shade for you just stand in the sun- you can’t have a map until I personally hand it to you but offer no other information - oh and I will give you a number and tell you to stand with all the other numbers so more confusion. The transfer ugh- be here early - oh and we have to have you return early because one of the ships is leaving early - not your ship just these three couples. So not till 5 which is shorting us time. Also the bus had no empty seats on the way back - but empty seats on the way there ? Riddle me how that happens. It may have been that no one was checking when we got back on if the people should be on or free trip back to port. Oh and the stop to return is the 6th stop but not really cause you have to walk another block or two and then hope you make it for the early departure even though it says 4 pm l on the map the transfer company gives you. A taxi or private transport would have been better Hop on and hop off - so the redline vs the yellow line - one you can actually see at stops - 30 plus minutes at the yellow line and still no bus - inexcusable. The red line well let’s see - pass out the audio buds don’t make people go up and down the stairs to get them. Make sure you don’t over sell tickets so people can get on a bus and not wait and wait oh and wait some more. Do not recommend spending money on either of these.

Viator not helpful - Even though I had provided the tour operator the ship I was coming in on they sold me a ticket that they could not complete the task. Return to ship was 500 and they were not returning until 530. Called the evening before to get clarification and Big Bus had no idea about bus to get me to Rome. When I excited ship and advised Cititour, they confirmed not being able to do and understood wanting a refund. Viator has not provided any assistance.

Very bad - Terrible customer service. After purchasing a 72-hour ticket, I registered on the bus on the first day of use, after the first stop we lost the paper ticket. We explained on the bus that we lost the ticket and showed proof of online purchase for the same day. We were not allowed to travel on the bus, with 2 small children. We requested a duplicate via the in-app chat, which was denied. We wrote an email explaining the situation and asking for urgent resolution and, despite saying that they respond in less than 24 hours, after 48 hours they still haven't given us feedback. A 72-hour ticket allowed use in just 3 hours. They would easily be able to check the time of initial registration in the system and provide a duplicate. Worst of all is the total absence of customer feedback and guidance. I totally advise against it!!’
