- Olmedo - Olmedo is a delightful town situated in the province of Sassari in northern Sardinia, Italy. - Rifugio Domo Mea - Guests will be warmly greeted by Alice, the hostess, who will lead them on an adventure that combines animal care with education about these fascinating creatures. Among her “guests” are ornamental chickens, goats, donkeys, peacocks, ducks, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, mini pigs, and many other friendly animals. The shelter, which welcomes free-roaming animals, provides the opportunity to interact directly with them, learn about their habits, and hear their stories. For those who love nature and seek a relaxing and educational experience to share with family, a visit to Alice and her furry and feathered friends is a must!

The refuge is the fulfillment of Alice’s grand vision: to live in harmony with nature and animals. After relocating from Rome to Sardinia, she dedicated all her efforts to bringing this project to life. With the help of numerous supporters and personal sacrifices, she succeeded in creating a safe haven for over 150 animals, rescued from perilous situations such as slaughterhouses, abandonment, or exploitation. Alice shares: ‘Freedom is at the heart of this place, even if it involves sacrifices to ensure the peaceful co-existence of different species. However, every effort is repaid by the joy of seeing a goat, once destined for slaughter, running free in our space’.
