Highlights
  • Tuscany Vespa Cycle and Bike Tour - Pasta Cooking Class in a 12th century winery in the hills of Tuscany.
Learn to cook pasta like an Italian!

Our tour takes place in the heart of Tuscany at an ancient winery dating back to the 12th century. Here you will be able to learn about the wine make process as you visit the winery’s cantina.

After that grab a glass of wine and your chef’s hat to dive into the cooking class. Because, what fun is cooking without a glass of wine in hand?!

During the lesson you will learn the art of making the famous traditional Italian pasta. You will be able to whip up your very own plate of pasta that you can enjoy during lunch. Once your hands are tired from all of that kneading we will take a break to make some sauce to go along with the pasta.

Afterwards sit down to toast with your new friends and celebrate all of your hard work. Relax and enjoy your very own creations as they are served for lunch! During lunch you will taste both the olive oil and a few wines produced by the winery.

Amazing experience in a picturesque setting, not to be missed. - Without a doubt this was our favourite experience in Tuscany. My husband and I thought it looked like fun,we couldn’t have known how much fun it would be. We met up with a group of people doing a couple of other activities ( wine tasting,Vespa tour) at Tuscany Cycle in Florence and were transferred by van to an exquisite vineyard outside the city. Alexa & ? I’m afraid I don’t recall the wine connoisseurs name. Both of these folks were friendly and kind hosts, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. The setting is right out of a movie. We saw the ancient wine cellar and the vineyard, then started our cooking class. That day it was just the 2 of us with Alexa. Reading other reviews here makes me laugh when people think because Alexa isn’t some older Italian grandma, that she doesn’t know what she’s doing. I’m here to tell you she’s a great teacher/cook. We made a meat ragu, Papparadelle pasta and tiramisu all from scratch. The wine was poured when we arrived in the kitchen and we were invited to enjoy as much as we liked. Alexa gave us lots of tips on what to look for when buying ingredients back home and answered all our questions. She was patient and kind and when we were finished preparing the food, we sat at a table overlooking the incredible scenery and enjoyed the fruit of our labour. It was perfect! After that I received the recipes from Alexa by email so we can reproduce the dishes at home. Thank you Alexa for the lovely memories, your a legend!

Book this activity! - Highly highly recommend!! This was such a great experience for our family. I saw other pasta making classes in Florence but I’m glad that we chose one that was in Tuscany. The driver and the instructors were friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The drive out to Tuscany was beautiful and we even began the tour learning more about the winemaking process. We made tiramisu and pasta and sauce in a beautiful kitchen. They even gave us wine to drink while we cooked. We had varying skill levels in our group and everyone enjoyed. Highly recommend!

Just do This! - Alexa was the greatest delight! What a treat that we (couple) had her to ourselves! We made Pici pasta, tiaramisu and of course had fabulous wine at a property built in 1247. Cool settings & great, great food. But Alexa made it all so great. Thank you Alexa - From Oregon!

Awesome experience! - The hosts for this event organizing group (Tuscany Cycle) we’re so kind, funny, and accommodating. They worked with us when some unforeseeable issues caused some changed in our initial plans. Overall a great experience with great people, I would totally recommend booking anything with Tuscany Cycle!

Don't miss out! - This was a fabulous experience! We had never done anything like this before and couldn't stop talking about it. Both guides were great as we drove about 30 minutes out to the property. Francisco talked about wine making process and walked us thru the wine cellar. We had wine and learned how to make pasta from scratch with Alexa in an old country kitchen. We enjoyed more wine and our own cooked pasta for lunch. Would do this again!

Fun experience - Loved this! The Tuscan countryside was amazing and Alexa was a great guide and teacher. I can’t wait for her to email us her recipes so we can try them at home. The old, old kitchen really created a great ambience. The food turned out great and everyone shared in the preparation.

Fun and delicious! - It was a nice ride to a beautiful countryside. The winery was quaint and cool. Our chef was friendly and fun, and we got to eat our food at a beautifully set table in a cool private rock room on a lower level of the winery. We all had a great time and now have a nice memory of Tuscany.

Highlight of our vacation! - My husband, daughter and I loved this pasta class!! From the minute we met Alexa we knew it would be great. The ride to and from was very scenic. She was fun and informative. The house that it was held in was something out of a story book. Incredibly gorgeous! We loved meeting Francesco. He gave us a very informative wine session. Then we made a delicious meal. Alexa taught us to make the most delicious pasta meal while we enjoyed fantastic wine. I highly recommend this tour. It was a highlight of our vacation!

Don't book this class, awful - From start to finish this was the worst tour ever experienced and we are seasoned travellers. Check-in 9.30am - had to hang around and didn't leave until 10.15am. The American receptionist, Alexa (who also drove a bus and led the pasta making) was rude and defensive. Dangerous drive to Tuscany in a dirty van - our driver couldn't drive manual, I had to help him. On arrival one family told Dan, the Serbian owner how scared they were, he verbally abused them and threw them off the tour, leaving them to find their own way home. We should have left too. For 30 mins we listened to the winery owner, ok but not what we had booked. First glass of wine offered some 3 hours later. Pasta making was nothing like the promotional image. The kitchen and utensils were dirty, no attention to hygiene. Total health risk. Just one bowl which we took in turns to stir and kneed. Pasta making more like a primary school class, just dull (tagliatelle and a tomato sauce were the only options ). All this, led by Alexa - nothing Italian about this cooking experience. Bored, we went outside to view the beautiful setting. 4 hours later we sat down to eat the tasteless pasta. Incidentally, only one wine and one olive oil were available despite the tour information promising a variety of tastings. Whilst the other participants ate cheese and meat slices, there was nothing for us (I had notified in advance we were lactose intolerant). I politely told Dan, the owner. He became rude, aggressive and intimidating and told me to leave. He turned on my companion after she told him his behaviour was unprofessional and inappropriate. We went outside to wait for the bus. Dan and Alexa contained the tirade outside, shaming us in front of the rest of the guests becoming more angry and confrontational when I suggested I would be writing an honest review on Trip Advisor. Dan screamed he didn't care. Some 6 hours later we were returned to Florence, desperately upset and regretting the loss of an entire day. I reported the experience to my credit card company and the tour operator. Do not make the same horrible mistake. Do not book this tour.

A traumatic experience - In theory this tour should be an unforgettable experience but it turned out to be unforgettable in the most negative way possible. By far, this was the worst customer service I have ever come across and the owner and staff could not have been more rude and aggressive. To start, the buses departed over an hour late, and when we asked how long it would take, the woman Alexa was unfriendly and didn’t seem to be bothered. When we eventually left, our driver had no experience driving stick shift and the break pads of the car were burnt out. Upon arriving an hour later, another woman in the group told the owner that she wanted to take the train back to Florence because the driving was bad which led him to shout at her in front of everyone. It was mortifying and she was left visibly shaken and he told her if she wanted to leave the tour he didn’t care, so her and her family left. The pasta making was led by Alexa, a Native American, it wasn’t authentic at all. The hygiene levels were non-existent and everyone chipped in for different parts of the cooking, you didn’t even get to make your own dish. The food was basic, bland and flavorless, they didn’t even use salt to cook the pasta. When someone asked for a meat and dairy free for an alternative for lunch, the owner said that they should have left the tour with the people at the beginning. He shouted that he didn’t care if people walked out, he had many of other clients to deal with and he was in the business for over 10 years - despicable way to speak to paying clients. Overall, we left having not eaten all day and horrified with the way the staff treated us, it was simply terrible. Save your money and don’t make the same mistake we did.
