Erected in 1792 under the direction of Giannantonio Selva after winning a public competition, Teatro La Fenice is a neoclassical landmark that initially housed private shows and operas. Despite two devastating fires in 1836 and 1996, the theater was rebuilt with improved acoustics, maintaining its grandeur and cultural significance. Throughout the 19th century, it premiered iconic works by Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, and Verdi, solidifying itself as a global epicenter of opera.
