  Cortona is the main cultural and artistic hub of the Val di Chiana after Arezzo. Founded by the Etruscans (originally named “Curtun”), Cortona still preserves many of its original Etruscan remains. The town is rich in history, boasting connections to great Renaissance artists such as Luca Signorelli and Beato Angelico, as well as Pietro di Cortona from the Baroque period. Cortona and its surrounding countryside also inspired the famous film “Under the Tuscan Sun.” Just outside the city, the tour will visit the evocative Hermitage of San Francesco, known as “Le Celle.”
• Montepulciano - The second stop includes a free visit to the town and guided wine tastings in the historic cellars of Montepulciano.
  Montepulciano is a medieval and Renaissance hill town renowned for its pork, cheese, “pici” pasta, lentils, and honey. It is globally recognized for its wine: Nobile and Red of Montepulciano. The driver escort will guide you through the incredible underground cellars, where a qualified winemaker will introduce you to the gigantic oak barrels in which the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and the Rosso di Montepulciano DOC “rest.” At the end of the visit, enjoy a delightful wine tasting of the finest wines, accompanied by an explanation of their basic characteristics.
