- Vatican Museums - Among the world’s most opulent and comprehensive museums, the Vatican Museums offer an extensive collection that could take weeks or even months to fully explore. The museum is abundant with statues, paintings, sarcophagi, and mosaics amassed by the Popes since the Renaissance. It was Pope Julius II who initiated this vast collection with his private assortment, which has grown into a monumental assembly of art. The Sistine Chapel is a major attraction, drawing thousands annually to admire Michelangelo Buonarroti’s masterpieces: The Last Judgment and The Genesis. Visitors will also encounter Michelangelo’s marble masterpiece, La Pietà. The Basilica will captivate with its grandeur and intricate decorations. The guide will be available to provide any additional information desired. At the tour’s conclusion, guests will reunite with their driver to either continue the tour as planned or return to the hotel.
- Sistine Chapel - Constructed by Sixtus IV, from whom it derives its name, the Sistine Chapel was completed in the late fifteenth century. It showcases the Old and New Testament through the works of renowned painters such as Perugino, Ghirlandaio, and Botticelli, culminating in Michelangelo’s masterpiece. Inside the “Cappella Magna,” a place of significant religious and political importance, speaking, photography, and videography are prohibited. The private guide will allocate time for visitors to appreciate the exquisite decoration. Following this, guests will enter St. Peter’s Basilica through a designated door.
- St. Peter’s Square - Renowned as the world’s most famous baroque square, St. Peter’s Square is where crowds gather during the conclave to glimpse the new Pope for the first time. Bernini’s colonnade symbolizes Peter’s embrace of the faithful who have visited for centuries to pray at his tomb. At its center stands one of the oldest Egyptian obelisks, originally located in the circus of Emperor Nero in ancient Rome. The private tour concludes with the hope that guests enjoyed the experience and will return to Italy soon.
- Colosseum - The Colosseum in Rome stands as the largest and most sophisticated amphitheater of the ancient world, serving as a primary symbol of Rome. Constructed between A.D. 70 and 72 by Emperor Vespasian, it hosted events such as gladiatorial contests and hunting games.
- Piazza del Campidoglio - The Capitoline Hill, the smallest yet most significant of Rome’s seven hills, served as the political and religious heart of ancient Rome, symbolizing its dominance as the world’s capital. From the Capitol’s summit, guides reveal the marvels of ancient Rome, represented by the Roman Forum’s ruins, the largest monumental area globally. This breathtaking view offers incredible photo opportunities to capture memories of the Eternal City. The expansive ruins of temples, basilicas, and triumphal arches symbolize Rome’s power during the first thirteen centuries of its rule over much of Europe.
- Circus Maximus - The Circus Maximus, an ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium and mass entertainment venue, is located in Rome, Italy. Nestled in the valley between the Aventine and Palatine Hills, it was the first and largest stadium in ancient Rome and its later Empire.
- Roman Forum - Known as the world’s most famous monumental area, the Roman Forum was the political center of ancient Rome and a symbol of the Eternal City’s power. It is the site where Rome was founded in the eighth century BC, marking the beginning of the Romans’ remarkable history of conquests across Europe.
- Spanish Steps - Rome’s iconic staircase, the Spanish Steps, features 135 steps connecting Piazza di Spagna with the church above Piazza Trinità dei Monti. Designed by Francesco de Santis in the eighteenth century, it is now a popular shopping destination and a spot for ritual photos in front of the renowned Bernini fountain at the staircase’s base.
- Piazza Venezia / Ancient City - Piazza Venezia serves as Rome’s central hub, where several major roads intersect, including Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via del Corso. It is named after Palazzo Venezia, constructed by Venetian Cardinal Pietro Barbo alongside the church of Saint Mark, Venice’s patron saint.
- Pantheon - The original Pantheon was built in 25 BC by Marcus Agrippa, a prominent Roman general and son-in-law of Emperor Augustus. After 150 years, Emperor Hadrian reconstructed it in the same location, resulting in the structure we admire today. Nearly two millennia later, visitors can still explore this ancient building and its remarkable open dome. Since the seventh century, the Pantheon has been converted into a church, the Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres. This unique monument is a must-see, even for those who have previously visited the Eternal City.
- Trevi Fountain - Renowned as the world’s most beautiful and famous fountain, the Trevi Fountain symbolizes the unparalleled beauty of Papal Rome. Situated at the intersection of three roads, it is built at the ‘terminal point’ of the Acqua Virgo, one of Rome’s vital aqueducts supplying drinking water to the Eternal City. A visit to this iconic fountain is essential, where tossing coins ensures a future return to Rome.
