Awesome Dome & Basilica Entry - The tour meets early and walks you through security. I had my elder mother and I was able to skip the dome trip and go straight to the Basilica. The rest of the team visited the dome. We went at 8am and security only took about 8 minutes. When we left the basilica at noon, the lines were super long. Great experience!

Average at best - I would have to give this tour an average score. Basically they will show you the front door, then you’re on your own. Too large a group.

Not suited for the claustrophobic! - The ‘tour’ was essentially just a skip-the-queue entry as we was provided with an app to show us all the must-see points. The duration of the tour time when booking is completely inaccurate, we saw everything we wanted to see and the app said it should take 3 hours and we were done within an hour then had to wait about for our next attraction. It wasn’t very well communicated that even though you get the elevator and miss 500 or so stairs, you still have to walk up 200+ stairs in slim corridors to get to the top of the dome.

Average experience - it was an average experience, audio guide was not user-friendly, difficult to correlate the chapters to artefacts, no proper instructions. initial touch point to collect the tickets is not very user-friendly, very large crowd. overall just a bit under par experience.

Had I known - There’s no good way to buy tickets for St. Peter’s Basilica online and I opted to use Vox. I arrived at the meeting spot a little early. It was easy to find. They basically just took us over and stood in line with us. I had the opportunity to use the audio guide but decided not to. Had I known that all I had to do was go get in line early, 7:30 am, and buy a ticket I would have.. but I didn’t know that and I’m happy with the service. Tickets are cheaper on your own. Be forewarned, if you skip the elevator to the dome , it’s 551 steps to the top with no place to turn around. So worth it though. The Basilica is beautiful and the view of Rome from there is amazing. Box (Headout) makes it easy.

Completely disappointed. - Apparently, this tour was outsourced to another tour company but I purchased from VIATOR. I could not locate the tour operator or reach them via their messaging app. I attempted to contact them via the messaging app; no response at all to three messages. Nobody ever called me.

Don’t. Don’t bother booking at all - The guide gave us an app QR code and told us to wait in line for multiple hours. After we got in finally, we were told to wait for another eternity until the guide bought the tickets on the day we had the trip booked (wouldn’t have had to reserve the tickets for this in advance, by just waiting in line that’s the same result.) Then the guide left us alone in the St. Petro dome and told us to do whatever… truly not recommendable to book. Especially because the Audio guide is terrible in all languages but English (my dad doesn’t speak it that’s why we booked it so he could have it in his language). And the entrance shows fees of 8 or 10€ per person depending on elevator usage or stairs. Means this „tour“ is way overpriced.

Don’t waste your money - Don’t waste your money. You still have to stand in line to enter and you could download a tour for free to your phone There’s no tour guide so all you get is an escort to St Peter’s
