THE ULTIMATE SMALL BOAT RIVER EXPERIENCE! Seek the most thrilling, turbulent, and drenching journey down the Snake River Canyon? Search no more. Lewis & Clark’s compact boat is your optimal pick. It’s more than just an ‘8-person raft.’ It’s the smallest guided boat in Jackson Hole, and the ONLY remaining paddle-only raft in the river. No other provider presents a raft as riveting as our 14-foot self-bailing ones. Hosting 4-7 paddling seats, and a maximum of 8 patrons, this boat promises more excitement per mile than any other on the Snake. We start our voyage at West Table and conclude at Sheep Gulch in the Snake River Canyon, comprising 8 miles of Class II and III whitewater, tranquil intervals, and swimming chances. Excursions take around 3 to 4 hours round-trip from our office at 180 Powderhorn Ln. Personalized Rafts Available, get in touch to reserve.

- WHAT TO WEAR: We provide a splash jacket to every customer free upon arrival at the launch site on our whitewater trips. The best clothes are ones that dry quickly. A bathing suit is usually the best way to start. Synthetic shorts or trunks and a light polyesteror other synthetic shirt are fine for warm days. Cool days require a bit more preparation. Always avoid heavy cotton clothing like jeans or sweat pants and sweatshirts. Cotton is extremely absorbent and will soak up all that river water, making you wet and cold. Synthetic clothing such as polar fleece, rash guards, exercise wear, thermal underwear, nylon jog pants, tights and polypro are your best choices when the weather is cooler and are all better choices than cotton. For maximum comfort on cooler days, a wetsuit may be the best choice. They’re available for rent at our office. Secure shoes are required for all trips. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Sneakers are fine and sandals are good on warmer days, but they must have a heel strap and stay on if you had to go for a swim. (no flip-flops or Crocs!) Neoprene booties are available for rent as well. We also recommend that you bring along some dry clothes to leave on the bus. They’ll be waiting for you there when you get off the river.

Amazing experience, lots of fun! - Luke was an excellent guide and our experience wall all we imagined and more. Our boat had a fun group and there were many laughs along with an amazing trip down the Snake River.

Wonderful Experience w/ a Top Notch Operation - We couldn't have been happier with our experience with Lewis & Clark. Every step of the way was seamless, from booking to check-in, getting to/from the river, and of course...the 8-mile ride! A special thanks to our guide Alex H. for making the trip fun for all of us and our boat mates, the kids (7/10) had a blast riding along and even getting to swim down parts of the river. Highly recommended for all ages, even first-timers like us!

Best organized family owned rafting company in Jackson and super nice staff. Ask for Isaak to guide you! - Thrilling! Super fun guide with great knowledge. This family run business is my GO TO spot for a white water rafting trip down the Snake River. Their staff are great, it’s run timely and efficiently. This trip we had Isaac from Alaska as our guide. He was so fun and had us laughing the whole time. All commercial rafting companies take the same 8 mile stretch down the Snake where particular 2 and 3 class rapids are enjoyed. August the water was low so the rapids were not as fast as the June timeframe but regardless we enjoyed it immensely. If you want a little more splash, do the 8 person small boat. It’s a 25 min bus ride to the location where you put the raft in, about 1.5 hour raft ride, and another 30 min bus ride back. It’s worth it to use their wetsuits and booties for warmth. We loved it!

Great rafting in the rain - Trip started in rrain and fairly cold. We were apprehensive but it turned out to be great Ben was a terrific guide, fun, skilled and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend Ben and Lewis and clark.

THIS is the company to book for a rafting tour in Jackson - My husband and I did the small boat tour first thing in the morning with Luke on Aug 8. We ended up renting wetsuits and I'm glad we did. It's chilly first thing in the morning. Neither of us had been white water rafting since we were kids, but we felt completely safe and Luke was super knowledgable and funny. We really enjoyed conversations with him, learning about the area, and seeing lots of different bald eagles (and a beaver!). The river is stunning. I wanted to go again when the rafting trip was over. I did a bunch of research before booking Lewis & Clark. I would 10/10 recommend them over the larger companies. You get to participate more and it's a much more intimate settings. You're not a cog in a machine. These guides are highly trained and everyone is really friendly. I'm hooked on white water rafting now!

Viator messed up but Lewis and Clark made it right - Excellent company to book with. Each employee was attentive. We met the owner who was very accommodating in fixing a huge booking error Viator made that messed up our reservation. Viator failed……. this great company compensated for their mistajey. I’d use Lewis and Clark expeditions again but I’d booked directly despite the fact Viator tries to hide the outfitters names.

Amazon adventure - My family of 6 had an amazing time. Danny was our guide and he was funny, extremely knowledgeable and excellent at giving guidance. We wished we lived closer to go again. Lewis and Clark did an awesome job from the beginning to end.

Amazing company! - Lewis and Clark River Expeditions, one of the last mom and pop river rafting companies. This was a great experience. I recommend 1000%. For many reasons:
1. Being a mom and pop you can tell they value their employees. They have had the same crew for years. Unlike the competitors, being large chain companies, they don’t care and end up hiring less experienced guides.
2. The guides are experienced and knowledgeable. Our guide, Luke, was so experienced and knowledgeable about the water and how rapids work and how to keep us safe while rafting them. He is certified water rescue first responder. His confidence and calm demeanor made me feel safe. I am usually a pretty anxious person and when I’m anxious I cannot enjoy an activity, he is the reason this was such a great and memorable experience.
3. The trip was so fun! It was a good mix of relaxing and adventurous rapids and even if the weather and water didn’t deal us a good hand ( because these are things Lewis and Clark cannot control) our guide made it fun and enjoyable!
4. They had a great transport set up. They allowed us to drive separate from the bus down to the parking area but still drove us back to our car after. I did see complaints about the walk back from the boat dock; however, this is a boat dock all the rafting companies use not just Lewis and Clark, so it’s gonna be hard to avoid. I thought it was nice little hike and gave you some pretty views.
5. Last but not least the owner has a beautiful dog named Arlo at the shop that is a therapy dog to help calm guest and kids before the trip!
I could go on and on but I strongly recommend this company, let’s support local and great quality guides!
