A croc enthusiast’s dream! - If you’re looking to see crocs in the wild up close (and tons of other wildlife), this is the tour for you! Our guide, Jose, was excellent, always quick with both facts about the species and jokes that kept the tour fun and exciting. The crocodiles were incredible, with some able to be approached where our boat was within a few feet of them; and they were massive!! Bird-watchers will also love this tour, as we saw plenty of avian wildlife. Wish I could go on this tour again!

Tornado!! - We had a great time on our tour!! José was very knowledgeable of the plant and wildlife along the river, and he had a great sense of humor. The highlight was seeing Tornado as he backed into the water. What a massive beast!! He's 18 feet long, missing his right eye, left front leg, and part of his tail. What a warrior!! They call him Tornado because they've witnessed his death roll on two occasions. They've seen him kill and eat a cow as well as another large croc. It was a rush being so close to such a killer!!

We touched a crocodile! Funny, exciting and informative! - This was an amazing tour, the guides were funny and brave and knew a lot about the area and fauna. It was informative and exciting! The boat is low to the water so we were able to get within 2 feet of a crocodile, which the tour guide called to the boat! There's a couple of different crocodiles they see every year we were able to meet 5 or 6 crocs. We were able to see the guides feed the crocodiles and a hawk came over to ask for some too. In one case we touched the tail of a crocodile!! It is also a nice tour of the Tarcoles river, they showed us different birds and the mangrove forests and explained what they do and why they are so important. 10/10 recommend!

12/10 must see - Siede and El Capitan were great!!! We took the 8am tour and had the whole boat to ourselves. Got up close to the largest crocs in the river and saw an array of wildlife. The birds were beautiful and the knowledge shared from the tour guides was 12/10. MUST SEE

Must do in Tarcoles - It was great seeing crocodiles in their natural habitats. We were lucky to see both the Osama (6m) and the tornado (5m) crocodiles. The tour was completely safe and the guides were knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend

Lots of Crocodiles! - It was fun to go out on a boat on the Rio Grande! Our tour guide Jose was very informative and funny. We saw at least 12 crocodiles from 4-18 feet long, turtles pelicans, macaws, monkeys and other pretty birds along the way. Good safe parking, clean washrooms (we didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked good). Good stop!

Ok - I suppose crocodiles are hit and miss. The trip was OK. We heard about some of the wild life, mostly birds.

Great Wildlife; awful rubbish. - This review really covers all the operators as they all use the same boats in the same area. The wildlife was very good, particularly the birdlife, although the crocodiles were either asleep or Disney audio-animatronics. What shocked us was the mountains of rubbish everywhere. We'd had a lot of rain so maybe that was the reason, but everywhere there were piles of mostly plastic rubbish. Costa Rica prides itself on being "eco" but this is the reality.
