Amazing guide and tour to Manual Antonio! - Had a great time and tour with Jerry. He picked us up from our hotel in San Jose and took us to Manual Antonio for the day. Jerry was very knowledgeable and a fun companion for the day. On the drive there he even pulled over as he spotted two scarlet macaws in a nearby tree - amazing! Manual Antonio park itself was beautiful and we got to see lots of wildlife, mostly pointed out by Jerry.

Pura Vida with Jerry!! - I cannot say enough good things about our trip to Manuel Antonio and Tortuguero the next day with Jerry!! He is a passionate, knowledgeable, and fantastic tour guide. We loved getting to spend two days with him exploring both coasts of Costa Rica! We always felt safe on the tour, were given clear instructions on meeting times, and memorable moments throughout the day. Jerry’s love for his country is so obvious and you cannot help but shout Pura Vida all day long. If you are in Costa Rica, you need to book a tour with Jerry!

Amazing guide - highly recommend - Our guide Geobanna was amazing! She gave us a great overview of our day, shared some relevant history of Costa Rico and the region before entering the park. Upon arrival, she had parking and entry organized, which helped save time so we could concentrate on the park. Her knowledge of the animals and flora/fauna within the park was extensive and she had a keen eye for spotting the wildlife. Additionally, her warm personality made the day special for our small group.

Beautiful Park, no tour guide - We went at 7:00 in the morning / our travel company with no tour guide. We had been on several tours already and felt we knew a bit of the flora and fauna. We walked pretty much most of the park and beaches. Mostly easy walking paths others were a hike. bring plenty of H2O, very hot. We saw very colorful crabs, capuchin monkeys, so much fun to watch, sloths, white nosed coati, iguanas, hummingbirds plus other birds. Worth a visit

Tour guide is Jovanna is EXTRA - The tour guide Jovanna is an extremely old-fashioned, stuck up & by-the-book type of lady who started spoiling my trip when she came to pick me up 10 min early & was being impatient. As soon as I entered the bus, she warned me about getting searched for drugs at the park & told me to leave anything illegal. I smelled like weed that morning but didn’t have anything illegal on me & I don’t think that introduction was necessary at all tbh… Nobody REALLY searched us at the park. Indeed it was a very formal bag-opening procedure nobody actually cared about. But Jovanna had no chill & even made sure to come check on me in the MEN’S Bathroom & called my name when I was changing in the cabin (or to make sure I wasn’t smoking there I guess smh). I understand I might have left a bad first impression smelling like weed, but - listen - people should not be harassed for such things especially while spending money on vacation, period. $tay away from Jovanna if you are cool, under 40 & not stuck up like her. She also spoke non-stop about Costa Rica’s culture and history and shared some interesting facts but the way she narrated was rather boring and very soon I stopped paying attention. No win here either. I think I said thank you just to be polite. Didn’t mean it of course. Didn’t want to write a bad review so I did not write anything. But almost a year later I confirm: this trip kinda sucked cause of the guide alone.

Great Wildlife, But Be Prepared to Go Hungry - The wildlife viewing was good. We saw several different types of monkeys, a couple different sloths, a toucan, a snake, and a few basilisk lizards. Definitely the best tour for wildlife viewing on our trip. Unfortunately, the park recently changed its rules and now allows no food at all in the park and has no place to buy food within the park. They checked our backpacks to make sure we didn't bring food in. We were not warned about this until we were on the way to the park. Since this tour lasted several hours, and we had a 4 year old and an 8 year old, this was not a good situation. My husband and I were hot and hungry, but much worse, the kids were hot and hungry. When we got to the restaurant on the way back to our hotel, the wait for food was quite long, even with a pre-selected menu for our tour group. Additionally, while the stop at the beach was helpful because we were so hot, but the beach had a very strong rip current, so it was a tiring experience to try to not get carried out to sea. At that point we just wanted to leave, but we couldn't because we were with a group. I would not recommend this tour for any group with young children. You'd be better off going by yourself (no guide) for a quick walk into the park and back out.

No show - We were not picked up at the designated time. We called the tour company who told us the tour was cancelled because there weren’t any tickets left for the park. The tour had been booked for months and we weren’t warned this could be a problem. We also weren’t told it was cancelled until we called. Luckily, there was another tour company running a similar tour collecting someone at our hotel the same day. When they heard what had happened, they told us that this company has done this before. They then offered us a place on their tour and within a few minutes we had tickets to the park and were on the bus! Would definitely recommend a visit to Manuel Antonio, but not with this company. We did manage to get a refund through viator.

The Worst - Run Away! - Wish I could have included photos of my experience - but the tour company oversold and cancelled on us. Not only did they cancel but they didn’t let us know until I finally tracked someone down the night before. The official cancellation notice came the morning of the excursion. We planned our whole trip for this excursion and will never be able to do it. We booked months in advance. What a terrible and disappointing experience for a trip of a life time.
