Join us on a very unique and exclusive Sunset Tour to Playa Fantasia. Our sunset tour departs at 1:30 pm from Playa Herradura cruising 40 minutes up the Gulf of Nicoya to a secluded beach.
Playa Fantasia is a beach, accessible only by water, a beach with sprawling jungle, reef formations, white sand and turquoise waters. Untouched and full of marine and wildlife such as Monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, Turtles, and of course, all our rescued animals.
At Playa Fantasia, you have access to boogie boards, paddleboards, surfboards, hammocks and beach loungers.
This tour is an excellent alternative to Tortuga Island to avoid the crowds and is a great short and sweet experience perfect for families with children, couples, and singles. Cruise home to the sunset.
IMPORTANT GREEN SEASON UPDATE
Due to the green season our sunset tours will be operating during daytime hours (11-3:30pm) from May 15, 2021, to November 25, 2021, to avoid the afternoon rain.
- Our cruise is not a booze cruise, if you are looking for a booze cruise, you will be disappointed
- Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
- Not recommended for participants with back problems or participants with limited mobility
- There is plenty of shaded areas on board, please prepare to spend majority of your tour in direct or indirect sunlight. For safety reasons spray sunscreens are not permitted.
- We board the large catamaran from small tenders from the beach. Long dresses, and pants are not recommended.
- You will be notified by a representative of your pickup time, our transportation will only wait 5 minutes at each stop before moving to the next stop. If you miss your transportation time, your tour will be cancelled without refund.
- ID is needed to use paddle boards, boogie boards, surf boards and snorkel gear.
- Banana Boat rides are available for purchase. Please contact us to reserve and purchase tickets.
- VERY IMPORTANT NOTE GREEN SEASON MAY - NOVEMBER *WE DO NOT RUN A SUNSET TOUR. Our sunset tour during these months operates from 11am - 3:30 pm to avoid rain, and rough waters in the evening during these months. During these months there is rarely a SUNSET and safety is our priority - always! Please note when booking these months we will contact you to arrange pickup, which is will be between 9:45 - 10:30 am during GREEN SEASON.
- The transportation depart from our office in 40 minutes before the to Herradura Beach were the Catamaran departs
- Alcoholic beverages only for those over 18 years of age

One of the best times I’ve ever had - This was the most amazing experience I’ve had in a while! The captain was very kind but firm about safety which was great! Once we were on sail the whole crew was very nice and I loved how they were soooo attentive! Drink taste great! The private island was fun with great food and games. I’m soooo glad we went on this excursion and it was worth every penny! I would definitely recommend this! Best fun I’ve had in years! Salute 🫡 to you capitan! Puro Vida!

Best boat tour in Jaco! - This was one of the best things we did in Jaco. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we signed up but I’m so glad we did it. We got picked up and took a van to a little boat which took us out to the catamaran. We were provided welcome drinks for the 45 min boat ride to the island. It was a private island with only people on our tour on it which was amazing. We swam around and lounged for a few hours and then had lunch. The lunch was amazing. It was so flavorful and fresh. After lunch we could swim and lounge a little more until the boat ride back and then we were provided transportation back to our hotel. It was open bar the whole time with beer and mixed drinks and the crew was so friendly and fun. If you are looking for a boat cruise in Jaco I would definitely recommend this one. We would have booked the same trip again the next day if it was available!

Family, friends, and a proposal at Playa Fantasia! 💍 - This was a great sunset tour! My family and friends enjoyed it as well. It was very organized, with kind staff. The music was nice on the boat and the beach was lovely. The lunch and drinks were good. Also, my then boyfriend, now fiance, proposed to me at Playa Fantasia! 💍💍 I was not expecting that to happen during the tour, and in such a beautiful place! I have so many cool videos and photos, with many great moments/memories, and top tier sunset views. I highly recommend this tour and using this company. Pura vida! - Britteney

Great experience! - We had a great time. The vibes were immaculate! The crew was great and took good care of us, and we felt very safe. The beach was a lot of fun with boogie boarding and beach volleyball and the lunch was really good.

Costa Rica catamaran experience - This was an amazing experience. The crew was amazing and professional. The BBq on the beach was phenomenal and the beach they take you to is private. Plus my sister got engaged on the excursion so it was a memory we will have forever. Thank you guys for such an amazing time. Highly recommend.

AMAZING - Absolutely the best experience on a catamaran. The captain and crew are amazing and they took us to a breathtaking beach. They cooked for us-DELICIOUS and the set up for the food was absolutely gorgeous. The drinks were very good and we watched the sunset on our way back. You need to book this trip with them- I promise you won’t regret it !!!

Wouldn't Recommend - We were really were looking forward to enjoying this excursion, but out of all the boat tours I've been on, this was the worst one. The captain was rude and unpleasant, and the energy on the boat didn't feel fun or enjoyable. It sucks because Playa Fantasia is a beautiful secluded beach, so we tried to make the best of it. But outside of the beach, the rest of the experience including the food and drinks were not worth it.

Not recommended - So after the captain/owner got done with the 5 minute lecture and threats about not drinking too much on an advertised "all drinks included" cruise his attitude never improved except when it was time to collect tips from the passengers. Add to this the fact that his boat deck ruined 3 out of 5 of my family's bathing suits, I would not recommend this cruise. The beach that we were taken to was very cool, the lunch was good and the rest of the crew were nice but the captain and the boat deck were a real bummer.

What a joke! - We were never given a proper place to meet. We arrived 12 minutes early to a massage shop then given a call that they had already left when we had already paid the day prior. Would never recommend this establishment! We booked with Costa Cat who were awesome and on top of it!
