Jaipur - Abhaneri - Agra
Abhaneri - Abhaneri is renowned for having the world’s deepest stepwell, located opposite the Harshat Mata temple. It is believed that the Chand Baori stepwell has a religious significance, which is why it was constructed in front of the temple. The stepwell is a square structure measuring 35 meters on each side, with three of the four sides featuring steps leading to the bottom. These steps were historically used to draw water. Built in the 9th century, the stepwell is a 13-story structure about 100 feet deep, with a total of 3,500 steps. The arid climate of the region necessitated digging deep to secure a reliable water source. The steps and surrounding architecture are a testament to the architectural prowess and geometric intelligence of ancient Indian architects.
Agra - The Taj Mahal, a symbol of love, was constructed by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to house her remains. It took 20,000 men working day and night for 22 years to complete this masterpiece, which continues to captivate the world. Later, visit the Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son. The fort showcases the exquisite art and craftsmanship of white marble, including the Pearl Mosque and the Halls of Public and Private Audience. In addition to historical monuments, visitors can explore Agra’s rich handicraft heritage in its markets.
