Magical peaceful desert evening 🌟 - Nothing was too much trouble for Padam and we had a wonderful afternoon and evening in the desert. We saw a beautiful sunset, and were lucky enough to have a moonless sky for stargazing. It was so peaceful, just the three of us, Padam and the camel guide turned chef! We had a delicious Thali prepared from scratch on an open fire. A magical and very special trip, a highlight in India.

Memorable Camel Safari with Cultural Program - Thanks Padam Singh Ji for arranging a nice half day safari tour. Enjoyed site seeing (Kuldhara and Khaba fort) enroute to the safari point. Mr. Nabu, the driver was soft spoken and helpful. He drove the jeep on rough road with ease. Had an amazing adventurous 4 km camel ride from Barna village (Khuri) to desert area. It was great watching the sun set over the dunes and walk on the Thar desert. Got refreshed by receiving a traditional Rajasthani welcome with hot tea and snacks at the camp site (Pal Rajah Resort). Enjoyed the local folk dance and music performance with delicious local cuisine. Overall a great experience in Thar desert.

Perfect offbeat desert tour..... the real desert experience! - I found Wanderlust Camel Safari on tripadvisor. It hit all the right notes. I didnt want to stay in a fancy resort, meet loads of other tourists and listen to loud party music till late in the night. I wanted the real desert experience. Padam Singh ji picked us up from our hotel at 2.30pm. After roughly an hour long drive, during which we stopped at the beautiful Khaba fort for a view of the old ruins and at an oasis with a lake, we reached a spot where we met our camels. Its an hour long camel ride, which is quite an experience and shouldnt be missed, but not necessarily the most comfortable one. The highlight for me was getting a front row view of many herds of deer prancing gracefully across the sands. The main camp site is in the middle of nowhere, sand dunes all around, away from the city, from the roads, from other tourists. Hot tea and pakodas later, we watched the sunset which is quite a sight in an open desert. Once it was pitch dark, they set up a bonfire next to our charpai and we lounged around, watching the sky light up with stars, having interesting conversations with Padam ji and the camel people while they cooked our dinner. Dinner was simple but hot and sumptuous. One reason to do this safari is to watch the sky filled with billions of stars, it's a magical sight and something we never get to see otherwise. When we were finally ready to leave, Padam ji drove us back to our hotel. There is an option to stay overnight in the desert as well. The safari is value for money compared to some resorts that charge exorbitant prices, Padam ji is a man of the earth, humble and happy to show you his desert world, the camels seems well treated and healthy, the experience is definitely a memorable one. Would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Jaisalmer.

A must do experience - My husband and I did the overnight camel safari with wonderlust. It was an absolutely amazing experience. We have been traveling India for 5 weeks. This experience allows you to escape the busy cities and relax. They will pick you up from their guesthouse (stay here as it is very clean) and take you into the that desert. You will be on the camel for a total of 2-3 hours between the two days. Trust me you don’t want more then that as it hurts but it’s a very cool experience. Everyone on our tour agreed that you pay to be out in the middle of nowhere and sleep under the stars in a warm and very comfortable bed. It was a highlight for us for sure!

Nica trip through the desert - We really enjoyed our trip. The guy who performs it is amazing, all the time he makes sure you are well and enjoy. Best of all was dinner, they made a tasty typical dish in a moment and we enjoyed it while the stars shone. The night jeep ride was a lot of fun. I recommend this tour! (:

Worth in every way - This non-touristic safari is the best way to explore the deserts of thar. You are totally away from the crowd. You get quality time in the dunes all by yourself. Three camel ride itself is quite a distance and you are in the awe in the vastness n the wilderness of the thar. Thank you wanderlust for such an amazing exp. A must must do to experience Jaisalmer
