Jaisalmer Desert Experience - Great trip. The hospitality was worth every penny spent. They took care of every detail. The pristine environment and the winter chill added to my good feeling.

Best Camps - I had the best days of my life so far. It is a really rich camp.
We rode a camel to the desert to watch the beautiful sunset, watched the sun set in the desert, our guides prepared delicious chai, snacks and curry with us, we cooked chapati together, looked at the perfect starry sky, watched the beautiful sunrise the next morning, ate breakfast and enjoyed a thrilling Jeep safari.
After the camp, they prepared a shower and dropped us off at the bus stop for Delhi for free.
I wasn’t vaccinated against rabies, and I was scared because there were dogs in the desert, but at night I was allowed to sleep with a futon on top of my Jeep. I was relieved to see the guides driving me away and protecting me throughout the camp.
Since it was a weekday in the beginning of December, Jaisalmer town itself seemed to have a lot of domestic tourists and few overseas tourists. The end of December is expected to attract many tourists, both domestic and international. Everyone was Indian except me, but we got to know each other and made lovely friends through the camp.
It cools down at night and early in the morning, so a compact down jacket will help.

Sleeping under the stars - This was an amazing experience. We took a jeep for about 1.5 hours into the desert to get to our camels, and then rode camels for about 2 hours to get to the sand dunes. We arrived in perfect time for sunset where they cooked us delicious food over the fire. For 1200 rupees you can buy mutton for them to cook, which is definitely worth it if you eat meat. We then hung out around the fire until we slept in beds under the stars. The temperature was perfect for sleeping, and there were absolutely no bugs. Our guides were super fun, and taught us a lot about native people to the area. The next morning we rode camels at a trot back to the jeep, which was a super fun way to end the trip. Overall 10/10 experience.

Best Camel Safari - I heard horror stories about how commercialized the camel safari tours can be and that was not the case with this tour. We had about a 2 hour camel ride to camp. They cooked us dinner at camp and got to sleep on the sand dunes under the stars. In the morning we got to ride the camels back to the jeep. The guides were all amazing and had great English. Highly highly recommend!

Starry starry night, what dreams are made of - Extremely organized and flexible. They were able to help us with our travel arrival so we could participate. We took jeep to meet up with the camels and off we went. Abhai was our camel wrangler who joyfully shared his love of the dessert, and took great photos!! The camels were calm and comfortable to ride, enjoyed the just under 2 hr ride. Jeetu was at the camp when we arrived and made the night unfold seamlessly! Made a delicious dinner and breakfast on the open fire! We also enjoyed helping make chapatis! Set up the beds under the stars- and you couldn’t have asked for a better sky, it was marvelous. We had heard nightmare stories of an overly commercial experience with other companies , but this was the real deal! We received a warm welcome into the desert and it was everything we had hoped for!!

Authentic and great desert experience - I had a fantastic experience with Real Desert Man Camel Safari in Jaisalmer. The trip started with a jeep ride into the desert, where we met our camels and Abe, our guide, who has lived in a desert village his whole life. Abe’s knowledge of the wildlife, camels, and the history of the area was impressive and added so much to the experience. We rode the camels deeper into the desert, set up camp, and enjoyed a delicious traditional Rajasthani dinner with snacks and masala chai.
Watching the sunset over the dunes, stargazing with beers, and sleeping under the stars made for an unforgettable evening. Waking up to the peaceful sunrise was a perfect way to end the trip. The whole experience felt authentic, and Abe and the rest of the team were friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we were well looked after.
We took quite a few clothes with us thinking it was going to be super cold overnight, but with the heavy and warm blankets, we were very cosy, so you can pack quite light. Although it might be different further into winter!
I’d highly recommend Real Desert Man Camel Safari for anyone looking to explore the Thar Desert.

The best camel safari in indiq - Would highly recommend the real desert man for any desert safaris. They were amazing to deal with and even took me to the hospital and sorted me out when I was poorly. The camels are well looked after by Abay and sleeping under the stars was so special! The best thing we’ve done in India! Thank you The Real Desert Man Safari!

To trek on camels and to sleep directly under the stars with this company is a breathtaking experience. - We booked the “Overnight Camel Safari Tour Package” from the website. To trek on camels and to sleep directly under the stars with this company is a breathtaking experience.
We were a group of four who trekked on camels in a remote part of the desert and then camped in dunes with no-one else in sight. Just the faint sound of surrounding villages in earshot. We had dinner, breakfast, and another camel trek in the morning. We had loads of time on the camels, which was great.
Abay, who has lived in a desert village and worked with animals for much of his life accompanied us and cooked for us that evening on an open fire. Along with the camel-trekking and the stargazing, he was a highlight of the experience. He was kind, informative, chatty and free-spirited.
The experience loses a star only because two influencers were invited to camp with us. Both of them were lovely women, but they were there to film content, that will ultimately be available to “Real Desert Man Camel Safari”. Influencer content creation made the experience feel less like we were alone with nature and the elements. In the future I would recommend the company bring influencers out on their own tour, as content creation can be noisy and distracting from the experience: the purpose of which is to feel alone in the desert under the stars.
Other than that, the experience is very well-organised. We were able to leave big back-packs in the Jaisalmer office, the camel trekking was amazing, the food around the campfire was tasty (cooked for us. Not “self-cooking” like the tour description), and sleeping beneath the stars in the middle of the Thar desert will never ever be forgotten.
