Highlights
  • Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park - We leave your accommodation and head to the Indonesia Miniature Park, which usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour. We’ll spend time exploring the area, where you can see numerous pavilions representing Indonesia’s 34 provinces, each showcasing different houses and cultures. Occasionally, there are festivals, events, and gatherings from various islands that you can witness within an hour or less. Afterward, we drive to central Jakarta to visit a museum, Chinatown, and the old town.
  • Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park - Still within the miniature park area, the Indonesia Museum is also worth exploring. This museum focuses on the art and culture of various ethnic groups that make up the Republic of Indonesia. It features Balinese architectural style and is adorned with beautiful Balinese carvings and statues. The museum houses a collection of arts, crafts, and traditional and contemporary clothing from different regions of Indonesia. On the third level, the museum introduces the concept of Indonesia’s New Capital (IKN), with a guide explaining it. After exploring the museum and miniature park, we proceed to the north, passing through Central Jakarta.
  • Jakarta - After visiting the Miniature Park of Indonesia, we head back to the central city within an hour or less and stop at a restaurant. You should try the local food, which is served at a medium-class establishment, not quite street food. Batavia Cafe is recommended at your additional expense. We spend some time relaxing before continuing to other experiences. Next, we proceed to a Batik shop.
  • Rumah Batik Danar Hadi Raden Saleh - Upon arriving at the Batik shop, you can choose to buy some Batik. Batik is a traditional Indonesian art form that combines art and technology passed down from Indonesian ancestors. Indonesian batik has developed to an unmatched level in both design and process. Various batik patterns, each with its own meaning and philosophy, continue to be explored from the diverse customs and cultures of Indonesia. Afterward, we proceed to the Old Town.
  • Istiqlal Mosque - After visiting the miniature park, having lunch, and shopping for Batik, we pass by the modern Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta. Designed by a famous Indonesian architect, it stands opposite the cathedral and symbolizes tolerance and harmony between religions.
  • Jakarta Cathedral - Continuing our sightseeing, we pass by the old Catholic church that stood before Istiqlal Mosque. It was built on land owned by a Dutch nobleman named de Kock, purchased with the help of the Catholic colonial commissioner-general, Leonardus du Bus de Gisignies.
  • Merdeka Square - We also pass by the presidential palace and take pictures at MONAS, a landmark of Jakarta with an 80-hectare area in front of the presidential palace.
  • Glodok Chinatown - Driving to the Old Town, we pass through Chinatown in about 30 minutes. You’ll see a traditional market with many local items. This market is the largest in the city and is also known as the Pecinan area in Petak 9.
  • Jakarta Old Town - Upon arriving in Jakarta’s Old Town, we take pictures of the main canal and old buildings, reminiscent of Amsterdam. You’ll see historical buildings in neo-gothic or European-Chinese style, including the Dutch city hall called Batavia or Fatahillah Garden. Finally, we drive to the Old Harbour for the last part of the program.

Wonderful Tour - You need a guide in Jakarta! - A private tour in Jakarta is an absolute *must*. As an experienced traveler, in order to maximize your travels and experience, you will need a local to help navigate. Agung (guide) and Elun (driver) both provided an EXCELLENT and genuine care experience. Their vast knowledge of the city, history, culture, and navigation made for a perfect day of travel. They were able to communicate, translate, provide vast amounts of knowledge for each of the stops and more! Even if you are a "world traveler", you will want Agung and Elun to help make Jakarta the best experience for you!

Jakarta - Changing Lanes - Ine and Jill were excellent hosts. Jill was very curious and a superb driver. He was patient and very friendly. Ine spoke excellent English and took me throughout Jakarda. She was patient and always asked if I understood the locations, such as Chinatown and where the Dutch history started and ended. She was on time and had excellent knowledge of Indonesia's history and culture. When I return, I will request their services I attended a concert, and the pis are of the lovely young people of Jakarta at a Deafheaven concert George

A day of memories in Jakarta - Ferdie was a fantastic guide. I had to make last-minute arrangements for a tour of Jakarta and Ferdie was so responsive and easy to reach and we were able set it up for the next day. We started off at the national Museum, which gave me a wonderful overview of Indonesia as a whole, and some wonderful art, fabrics, masks, carvings, huge statues, costumes. Ferdie was able to answer my questions in English. Next we took the sky tram around the grounds which showed different style homes, well almost palaces, from around the country. A highlight for me was a stop at a famous 19th C café whose name I’ve forgotten. We also toured Chinatown, which I could have done without. Ferdie was so accommodating and sweet, ready to cater to my interests. Enjoyed my day in Jakarta very much.

Wonderful tour in Jakarta! Highly recommend for those who want a comprehensive tour of Jakarta - There were a lot of activities during this tour, and I enjoyed going around different cultural and historical spots in Jakarta. Pak Saleh, my guide, and Pak Elun, my driver for the tour, were very accommodating. Pak Saleh always made an effort to answer my questions during the tour, and I am happy I was able to get some oleh-oleh (souvenirs) and martabak manis (sweet pancake) after the tour. I highly recommend going on this trip in the morning so that you can explore spots while they’re still open and avoid traffic. I missed a few spots because it was already really late, and I booked my trip at 12:30 pm. Also, check the weather before you leave because the weather is quite unexpected this time of the year in Jakarta (May to June). Overall, wonderful experience! Definitely maximize the experience by asking lots of questions and staying curious.

Just right - I have lived in Indonesia for 18 months now and have never had the chance to go anywhere. This was a perfect tour with just the right amount of personal time. Ferdy the guide was very informative. He spoke great English and the places to visit was perfect. I didn't care to go to Mosques or see other places but what we saw waa Chinatown, old Jakarta, we ate lunch at Cafe Batavia and Mini Indonesia. We really enjoyed ourselves and got information that we didn't know. Thank you Ferdy!
