Highlights
  • Istiqlal Mosque - Upon arriving at Istiqlal Mosque, we can take some photos of the mosque and the nearby Cathedral from the outside. Before entering the mosque, the guide will lead you inside, and the exploration will be completed with other travelers. As per Muslim regulations, shoes must be removed before entering. We will wait for the other travelers to finish their exploration with the local guide. Istiqlal, also known as Independence Mosque, is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the 9th largest in the world by worshiper capacity. After the visit, we will cross the street to visit the old church.
  • Jakarta Cathedral - Upon arriving at the church, we can take some photos outside or visit the interior to admire the design of the Jakarta Cathedral. The Cathedral is one of the oldest churches, predating the mosque, and has a rich history dating back to the Dutch era. This neo-gothic church was consecrated in 1901, having been rebuilt on the same site. The Jakarta Cathedral is located near Merdeka Square, the presidential palace, and directly opposite Istiqlal Mosque. After visiting, we will continue sightseeing and stop for photos at the monument.
  • Merdeka Square - After the Cathedral, we will proceed to Chinatown, passing by the presidential palace and stopping for photos at the monument. The National Monument, a 132-meter obelisk in the center of Merdeka Square, symbolizes Indonesia’s fight for independence and serves as a landmark of the capital. After the photo stop, we will continue sightseeing in the modern area of the city.
  • Selamat Datang Monument - The Selamat Datang Monument (Indonesian for “Welcome”), also known as Monumen Bundaran HI or Monumen Bunderan HI (for ‘Hotel Indonesia roundabout’), is located in Central Jakarta. Completed in 1962 by sculptor Edhi Sunarso, it is one of Jakarta’s historic landmarks. We will then continue to northern Jakarta for more historical exploration. We will enter the Shelter and take pictures for memories.
  • Glodok Chinatown - Visiting the historic Chinatown, which features an old pagoda built in 1650. Jakarta’s Chinatown is one of the busiest and most fascinating, being the largest in the country. We will visit the big market and its temple. The guide will lead the exploration, and we may take a Tuk Tuk to the Old Town, depending on your preference. This will be discussed as the driver waits or parks directly at the Old Town.
  • Jakarta Old Town - Upon arriving at Old Town Batavia, the guide will explain its history, known as “Kota Tua,” a reminder of Indonesia’s centuries-long history dominated by Europeans. Many buildings here feature European and Chinese architectural styles. Built in the 17th century as the town hall, the area served as a square during the Dutch VOC colonial era. We will then proceed to see the Puppet or Wayang studio.
  • Makutharama Puppet Studio - Still within the Old Town area, many colonial-era buildings that once served as offices, churches, and banks are now used as museums, studios, and cafes. One such building houses the puppet studio, a fascinating attraction where you can see how puppets are made and enjoy a 9-minute show if time permits. It’s a great place to find unique souvenirs.
  • Sunda Kelapa Harbour - Arriving at the Old Harbour, not far from the Old Town, we will see where traders and sailors first came to the city, leading to its colonization. This is the largest and oldest harbor from the 15th century, initially dominated by Asian ethnic groups before the Europeans. The harbor is still active for logistic trading with traditional Phinisi boats. This will be the last stop before heading back to the hotel, a journey of 45 minutes to 1 hour.

10 of 10 best! - The itinerary program was well organized by This company and do second time with friends, This program arranged very well in their experience, such that the places were linked with story. Our guide, Haidar was very talented in time and telling different sight area in short tour. Both Driver Jaya and Haidar were very helpful and accommodating. Great experience! During our visit we had the pleasure on having Haidar as our tour guide. and in additional He is the most active, attentive , and flexible tour guide that I’ve ever met. During our travels, it is quite apparent that Haidar is excited and delighted to show us Jakarta City in complex. Never have i thought that some places could be hidden too from the public eye. yet because of Haidar’s eagerness we manage to experience some things that the locals have yet to do. So far 10/10 experience and would recommend Haidar and company for your tour.

Great, professionally conducted tour. - We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Jakarta on Tuesday. Our guide was very knowledgeable and there appeared to be nothing he didn't know about Jakarta or Indonesia. Both our guide and his driver also looked after us extremely well - even to the point of re calculating routes to avoid traffic congestion and ensure smooth progress from one location to another. In summary, a very impressive tour conducted by a thoroughly professional guide and driver.

Djakarta on Steroids - The thing was that we had very little time (less than 3 hours), because we needed to get in time to the airport. Our guide Borneo and our taxi driver did a marvelous job to make sure we saw the bulk of Jakarta anyway. Great job !

Great tour, especially if you have limited time. - We only had 6 hours in Jakarta so booked this guide to give us the best experience for the limited time we had. We arrived by train mid day, and had a flight to catch that night, and the company organized our pick-up and drop-off. Our guide and driver showed up promptly on time and gave us a fantastic tour. Excellent information, and really made sure we got the major highlights of the City. Jakarta is a large metropolis, so having a helping hand to show us all the major locations was a huge help. Highly recommend!

Perfect half-day tour of this lively city - Had an incredible tour with Saleh who took me all around the city in an air-conditioned car and on foot. His English was excellent and took the time to show me and explain all of the sites we visited. Really, really enjoyed it. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to know more about Jakarta.

Very reactive and professional team. Avoid end of afternoon and fridays - we had half a day ahead of us to visit Jakarta. This offer was the only one that suited us. A responsive team with a friendly guide allowed us to do the tour by car. The guide provided a lot of interesting explanations, but we encountered 2 problems. 1/ the traffic in Jakarta at the end of the afternoon which blocks vehicles for hours 2/ the mosque which is closed on Fridays. In short, the visit took place mainly in the car (a tuktuk would have been undoubtedly faster) To conclude, a good experience which must be excellent in a tuktuk and not on Fridays
