Mt Fuji Hidden gems - Our day spent with Chris was a firm highlight of our family trip, our 3 teenagers hung on his every word and really enjoyed his company and seemingly endless knowledge. He took us to a magical moss forest, a special waterfall, we learned about mushrooms and shrines, some of us even jumped in the lake - he was prepared for everything, hiking shoes, sticks, towels, hot tea. An outstanding burger joint was very popular with some while others enjoyed a memorable noodle soup. Away from the crowds, we felt privileged to get an insider’s tour.

Sharing the beauty of Fuji’s nature - A very lovely half day out with Chris who took great care to show us interesting and beautiful sights in the Mt Fuji area - despite the rain! Chris shows great enthusiasm for guiding visitors, is very knowledgeable about the area and its nature and allowed us to set the pace totally. Lunch was at a small but excellent burger place allowing us a bit of variety from a couple of weeks of Japanese food. Highly recommend.

Incredible - Chris, the guide, is the most friendly, understanding and knowledgeable westerner I have ever met in Asia. He picks you up from your hotel or guesthouse and he gives you 100% of his attention. The tour seemed (and probably was) based upon your personal preferences. His local knowledge is 2nd to none. The places he took us, and the explanations and reasoning of each location we visited made us feel that we were visiting with a close personal friend. Very highly recommended. Even though we have done a tout with Chris, when I come back to kamaguchi or any of yhe5 lakes in the Fuji area, I will ask Chrisfor another tourbecause I believe he has many other places to see up his sleeve. Overall, this day out was my favourite day in a 24 day vacation in Japan. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Steve, Vicky and Lois. Sheffield, UK

Into the Dragon’s Mouth, a Nature-forward Tour of Mt. Fuji Region - For a unique, nature-focused tour of Mt. Fuji, this experience is a must. It features scenic hikes through lush forests and serene lakes. It was unfortunately cloudy and rainy during our tour and couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but the experience was nonetheless unforgettable. Chris is a knowledgeable guide that offer insights into the local ecology and Japanese history, making it both beautiful and educational. By exploring hidden trails away from crowds, you’ll enjoy a peaceful connection with the landscape. He provided rain jackets and walking sticks for us during our tour and also assisted us in arranging transport to Kyoto. Overall, this tour provides a refreshing perspective on Mt. Fuji and its natural surroundings. Thank you Chris and we look forward to another tour in the future.

Great view of Mount Fuji with Chris personalized tour - Chris took us to all his favorite spots around Mount Fuji. We also saw the mountain from 5 different angles and at our own pace. It was great value added understanding the difference between Shinto and Buddha temples. Great experience! Chris, even helped us get train tickets to our next destination and find great food from the places he visits!

We packed in a ton of sights and experiences in a single day. - Chris’ tour was outstanding. He shared much information on the culture, history and nature of the region. We felt a close connection with the locals due to his outgoing personality and friendships with those we interacted with. He was well equipped, able to pivot due to the weather and offered several options along the way for our choosing. Bravo!!

Magical, Unforgettable Experience! - We had an absolutely fantastic experience on this private tour of the Mount Fuji area. Our guide, Chris, is an American who has been living in Japan for over 30 years. He is incredibly personable, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and professional. In addition to picking us up and dropping us off at our hotel, he provided hiking boots as well as waterproof pants and jackets for us for the hiking portions of the tour. He customized the experience based on our interests; my girlfriend is a wildlife biologist, so he took extra time to show us and teach us about a variety of unique trees, flowers, mosses, mushrooms, birds, fish, and other creatures along the way. I am interested in Japanese culture, and Chris had so many fascinating insights about language, philosophy, and history to share with us as we explored various shrines and temples and other parts of town. I can't believe how much we did in one day—and without it feeling rushed at all! We visited several world heritage sites, hiked through the "sea of trees," stopped for a coffee at a 'glamping' resort overlooking the lake, took pictures in front of a gorgeous waterfall, had some wonderful pastries from a local bakery, explored the "dragon's cave," walked around the wildlife museum, had lunch in a little farmer's market area, and relaxed lakeside on the beach looking up at majestic Mount Fuji. It was a wonderful, magical day filled with unforgettable memories. This is a truly phenomenal, world-class tour, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone traveling to Japan.
