A certified and experienced local guide will lead you through the calm waters of Pyramid Lake, nestled at the foot of Pyramid Mountain, offering a glimpse into the classic Canadian mode of travel that has been in use for many years.
Before we embark, you’ll receive a brief on-land paddling tutorial and be equipped with a personal flotation device (PFD). Setting out from the sandy shores of Pyramid Lake Resort, you’ll embark on a journey lasting between 2.5 to 3 hours in a 25-foot, locally crafted cedar strip canoe. Designed for utmost stability and equipped with plenty of blankets and outerwear to keep you warm on cooler days, this canoe comfortably accommodates groups of up to six individuals.
The excursion takes you around a pristine mountain lake, providing stunning views of the Rocky Mountains, chances for wildlife sightings, and a mid-tour stop on the shore for a break. During this intermission, you’ll have the opportunity to stretch, enjoy snacks like fruit and baked treats, and partake in a coffee and tea service. My best experience in Jasper - The best tour I had in Jasper. It is a small private tour, we were only 5 including Mike the guide. They were kind enough to offer pickup/drop-off from downtown. They also provided hats for the tour, which was a big plus for me. They also made their own canoe, which you can tell the quality is very good. The tour felt amazing because Pyramid lake is less crowded and we were the only boat on the whole lake most of the time. The view was amazing and Mike is very knowledgeable about the area. We were brought to this private island that is only accessable by boat, we had some great desserts over there while dipping our feet in the water. You can also go swimming for a bit if you'd like, there're towels provided. Highly recommend if you want to spend some time on the water and enjoy a smaller group setting.

We had a great time! - The water is so calm and the reflection of Pyramid mountain was beautiful. We learned about fauna and flora in the area and saw an eagle. Even though you are in a canoe, it was a peaceful, relaxing and educational activity and to top it all off you have a delicious picnic with hot drinks on the beach. I highly recommend this tour as it was such a nice experience.

One of the highlights of our trip - We spent an incredible Sunday morning with Mike on one of his canoes. There were five of us, kids ages 12–16. Everyone agreed it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. We often kayak, but it was so much fun to be able to all be together. We covered a large amount of the lake during our three hour trip. Saw an elk in the water, bald eagles, loons. Had a beautiful stop with a delicious breakfast and warm drinks, and some of my crew went for a cool morning swim. We had a great time with Mike, he made us all very comfortable, took some beautiful family photos for us, and we laughed so hard many times. He is an incredible resource on the area and so knowledgeable about the wildlife, the geography. Cannot recommend enough. I was initially hesitant to book a tour because we feel very comfortable exploring on our own, however, it was 100% worth it and I am so glad that we did. We had so much fun and learned a ton. Thank you Mike for an incredible morning, you run a first class business!

Pyramid Lake Perfection - One of the best tours we have done in Canada. We were blessed by a beautiful day and greeted by Mike for our private fabulous, hand crafted, cedar outrigger canoe tour. We were stunned by the cushioned seats, blankets and exquisite business class type of treatment. Mike’s knowledge of the lake and its history, the surrounds and wildlife kept us entertained for the whole 3 hour circumnavigation of Pyramid lake. We were even more surprised when we paddled up to our private beach where Mike laid out a picnic blanket and pulled out his timber hand made picnic hamper with tea, coffee, drinks, pastries, slices and fruits. Something we didn’t expect which was very special. Do yourself a favour and book this tour as we thoroughly enjoyed every minute from start to finish.

Very scenic private canoe trip with perfect guide Mike - Our travel agency had recommended and booked for us a canoe tour on Pyramid Lake, Jasper. We had the tour in the morning-8.30- just the two of us and Mike. We enjoyed a lot this private tour, nobody else was on the lake and you could feel that also Mike enjoyed to be out there. He is a really good guide and the whole trip was good fun. He explained a lot about flora and fauna and we were watching animals or watching out for animal traits at the shore. We also asked a lot of questions and Mike was happy to answer. What a beautiful quiet place! They build canoes themselves, very cool. Also really nice and well prepared was the picknip stop. With coffee, tea and hot chocolates and cake we enjoyed a pit stop before finishing the tour round the lake. Many thanks Mike for this very special experience! This was exactly what we hoped to enjoy in Canada! M+A

Absolute calm, peace and beauty wrapped all in one. - This Pyramid Lake Guided Evening Canoe Paddle tour on my 12 day trip to the Canadian Rockies was the absolute favorite paid tour I took. The small group (4 participants and 2 guides) was intimate, quite and calm, exactly what I wanted. The commentary about the lake and area was done very well by not talking too much, too fast or not enough. We didn't have to paddle if we choose to take pictures but could calmly paddle to enjoy. The mid-point stop with refreshments was delicious and stressfree. Our guide switched the seat order when we got back into the canoe so we all had a chance to view the beauty of the area from the front. I was concerned about getting wet during the trip but that concern quickly faded. The canoe was stable. They added blankets for comfort. This trip is absolutely in the top 2 activities I did in Canada and brings a huge smile to my face. I wish I could remember the guides name to give him kudos for a job well done.

Evening canoe trip on Pyramid Lake - We did the Private Signature Canoe Experience in the evening with Travis. It was a great trip. The lake was beautiful and Travis was very knowledgeable about the local ecology. There was almost no-one else on the lake and it was very peaceful. We didn't see that much wildlife but did see a mink and some loons. It was a lovely few hours, and the home-made treats were delicious! We would highly recommend it.

More than a boat ride - This is so much more than a boat ride. Our three hour canoe experience was amazing; completely surrounded by beauty and narrated by our knowledgeable skilled guide Travis. He knew so much about the history, the flora, the fauna and the boat (which he helped to build). The canoe itself was gorgeous and after a quick lesson, we set off. We saw and heard loon, enjoyed watching mink frolic on the shore and stopped on a small beach for yummy treats (no bags of Doritoes and Chips Ahoy; these were freshly baked scones ,etc). Thank you Travis for an unforgettable experience

Wonderful trip - Truly wonderful evening experience with Mike for or family of four. We took this trip coming to the end of a 2 week Canadian adventure and we all agreed that it was one of our highlights. Mike couldn’t have been more welcoming and knowledgeable about the lake and it’s wildlife. We had a glorious pit stop mid trip and enjoyed drinks and cakes that Mike had brought. The light was amazing as we paddled back tired but exhilarated. You absolutely should book this trip.
