Highlights
  • Hamdeok Beach - Walking along Jeju Olle Course 19, you’ll find Hamdeok Beach, a place with an emerald gem. Situated in Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, it’s also known as ‘Hamdeok Seoubong Beach’ due to Seoubong Peak standing nearby. Just 20km from Jeju Airport, it feels like a different world upon arrival. Tall palm trees greet you, the emerald sea contrasts with white sand, and the clear water and waves make even the sand and seaweed appear transparent. Among Jeju Island’s many beaches, Hamdeok Beach, along with Hyeopjae and Gimnyeong Beaches, boasts the most beautiful sea colors. The clear, shallow waters make it a great summer spot for families. An overpass on the west side lets you experience walking on the sea.

  • Seongsan Ilchulbong - Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a key Jeju landmark, formed around 5,000 years ago from an underwater magma eruption. It’s renowned for its sunrise views, considered one of Jeju Island’s top ten scenic spots. Besides sunrise watching, it’s a popular trekking destination. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail links two villages across the peak, while the Jijil Trail offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark and local culture. Walking these paths, especially to the summit, provides views of the vast volcanic crater and the surrounding ocean. To complete your visit, head to Seongsanpo Port to see haenyeo (female divers) in action.

  • Jeongbang Waterfall - Seogwipo, covering Jeju’s southern half, enjoys abundant sunshine and warm temperatures, drawing tourists year-round. A popular attraction here is Jeongbangpokpo Falls, one of Jeju Island’s top three waterfalls. The water plunges 23 meters off a cliff into a pool before flowing to the sea. Behind the falls is Waljong Art Gallery, dedicated to Korean artist Lee Wal Jong, who settled in Jeju. The gallery showcases his unique artworks inspired by Jeju’s beauty and offers stunning sea views from its glass-walled second floor.

  • Oedolgae - Oedolgae, the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Course 7, is a 20m high stone pillar rising from the sea. Named ‘Oedolgae’, it’s also called ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’. Legend has it that General Choi Yeong decorated this rock like a general to intimidate the Yuan Dynasty, leading to their self-destruction. The name ‘Grandma Rock’ has its own legend. These stone pillars, formed during a volcanic eruption, are scientifically known as sea stacks. Pine trees naturally grow atop Oedolgae, creating a picturesque scene. Depending on your viewpoint, it offers different appearances, showcasing nature’s beauty.

  • Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff - Jeju Jungmun Resort not only features beautiful natural scenery but also numerous entertainment and convenience facilities for both domestic and international tourists. Jusangjeolli Cliff, near the International Convention Center Jeju, is a stunning sight with its massive rock pillars along the coastline.

  • Yongmeori Coast - Yongmeori Coast is named for its resemblance to a dragon diving into the ocean with its head raised (‘Yong’ means dragon and ‘Meori’ means head in Korean). This sandstone bed, formed over tens of millions of years, offers a breathtaking view. At the coast’s base is the Hamel Monument, established by the Netherlands Embassy and the Korean Foundation in 1980 to commemorate Hendrick Hamel’s dedication and strengthen Korea-Netherlands diplomatic ties.

  • Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road - Located on Jeju Island’s northwest side, Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road features a distinctive offshore wind farm. The white windmills and emerald waters along the winding shoreline exemplify the autumn landscape and eco-friendly energy generation. It’s also one of Jeju’s best sunset spots, so bring your camera! The coastal road includes an Ecological Experience Center walking course, with an observation deck midway for rest and views. Walking along this road promises pleasant memories and great photos.

  • Handam Coastal Trail - Handam Beach stretches from Aewol-ri Village to Gwakji Gwamul Beach on Jeju Island’s northwest edge. Created in 2001 as part of a coastline improvement plan, it offers diverse ocean enjoyment opportunities while harmonizing with the surrounding scenery. The 1.2km winding trail along the coastline is popular for relaxing walks by the vast blue ocean. In 2009, Jeju-si designated 31 sites representing Jeju Island, with Handam Beach among these hidden gems.

  • O’sulloc Tea Museum - Adjacent to the Seogwang tea field in Jeju, the Osulloc Tea Museum, opened in 2001 by AMOREPACIFIC, is Korea’s first tea museum. It aims to promote tea and Korean traditional tea culture. The museum blends East and West, tradition and modernity, featuring a tea museum, nature-friendly rest area, and a cafe offering a variety of tea-based menus.
