Located in Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, it’s also known as ‘Hamdeok Seoubong Beach’ due to Seoubong Peak standing nearby. Just 20km from Jeju Airport, it feels like a different world upon arrival. Tall palm trees greet you at the entrance, and the emerald sea contrasts beautifully with the white sand. The clear water and white waves make even the sand and seaweed appear transparent. Among Jeju Island’s many beaches, Hamdeok Beach, along with Hyeopjae Beach and Gimnyeong Beach, is renowned for its stunning sea color. The shallow, clear waters make it a great summer spot for families. An overpass on the west side of the beach allows for a unique experience of walking over the sea.

Manjanggul Cave - 만장굴 (Manjanggul Lava Tube)
Geomunoreum is the only parasitic cone on Jeju designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, containing over 20 caves, with Manjanggul Lava Tube being the only one open to the public. Its mysterious and grand appearance makes entering the cave feel like stepping into the underworld. Following the tunnel of intricate lava rock formations leads to a giant rock pillar marking the cave’s end. The cave’s temperature remains between 11-21℃ year-round, making it a magnificent sight in any season. -
Seongsan Ilchulbong - 성산일출봉 (Seongsan Ilchulbong)
Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a Jeju landmark, formed around 5,000 years ago from an underwater volcanic eruption. It’s famous for sunrise views, being one of Jeju Island’s top ten scenic spots. Besides sunrise viewing, it’s also a great trekking location. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail connects two villages across the peak, while the Jijil Trail offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark and local culture. Walking these paths, especially to the summit, provides views of the volcanic crater and the surrounding ocean. To complete your visit, head to Seongsanpo Port to watch haenyeo (female divers) at work. - Haenyeo Museum - Jeju haenyeo are the resilient mothers and spiritual pillars of Jeju residents. Their community life is a model for humanity, based on merit and democratic decision-making. They cared for the elderly and infirm, raised funds for societal contributions, and devised ways to coexist with the sea. Recognized for its cultural value, Jeju haenyeo culture was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on November 30, 2016.
- Dongmun Market - The largest seafood market in Jeju-si, including Sanjicheon Fountain, consists of Dongmun street market, traditional market, and seafood market. Here, you can buy various seasonal fish, pickled fish, and more.
- Seongeup Folk Village - This village, preserving the old Jeju lifestyle, is designated as an Important Folklore Cultural Heritage. Unlike typical folk villages, it is still inhabited. Residents volunteer as guides, providing visitors with information. The Saw-leaf Zelkova and Japanese hackberry trees in the village center are notable sights.
