Jeju Stone Cultural Park is both a museum and an ecological park that showcases the comprehensive stone culture of Jeju Island, known as the “home of stones.” It offers a serene atmosphere, with ample space to exhibit all of Jeju Island’s stone works. The entire park is themed around the birth myth of Jeju Island, featuring Seolmundae Halmang and General Obaek.
- Seongsan Ilchulbong - Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, standing 180m above sea level, is a unique volcanic formation that erupted underwater approximately 5,000 years ago, among the many craters on Jeju Island. The eruption, which occurs when lava mixes with water, results in fine ash that accumulates conically around the crater. Initially a volcanic island, it became connected to the mainland by sand and gravel near Shinyang Beach. At the summit of Ilchulbong Peak, which is 600m in diameter, there is a crater with an area of 214,400㎡, located 90m above sea level on the crater floor.
