“Haenyeo”. This is the word to refer those female divers who works especially under the sea in Korea. They gather seaweed, abalone, octopus, clams, sea urchin and other sea products. This word has meaning something special melting in their life beyond description itself as just a kind of job. In recent time, we are able to see them in Jeju Island only, far away one hour by airplane from the capital Seoul in Korea.

  • Seongsan Ilchulbong - Including Women Diver Show

Seongsan Ilchulbong, also called ‘Sunrise Peak’, is an archetypal tuff cone formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions upon a shallow seabed about 5 thousand years ago. Situated on the eastern seaboard of Jeju Island and said to resemble a gigantic ancient castle, this tuff cone is 182 meters high, has a preserved bowl-like crater and also displays diverse inner structures resulting from the sea cliff.

  • Seopjikoji - Seopjikoji is located at the end of the eastern shore of Jeju Island and boasts a fantastic scenery especially in April when yellow canola flowers are in full bloom. “Seopji” is the old name for the area, and “Koji” is Jeju dialect meaning a sudden bump on land.

Seopjikoji can be replaced with Sangumburi on October and November

  • Sangumburi Crater - October, November : Sangumburi crater

Instead of Seopjikoji

The best times to visit are October and November

  • Hallim Park - Hallim Park is a well-known tourist attraction in Jeju and holds monthly flower-related events. One of the highlights during the spring season will be the Hallim Park Tulip festival whereby there will be various species of tulips, such as Apeldoorn, Shirley, Kees Nelis, Barcelona, Pink Diamond and more. Besides, you can also taste bibimbap decorated with the colourful tulips

  • The Ma Park - As the world’s first horse-theme park, Raon The Ma Park performs permanent horse-riding performance, “Empire of Thousand Years. Oh! Goguryeo Dynasty”, which is based on the life of Jumong, the founder of Goguryeo Dynasty. It also has high-quality horse-riding facility available from beginner to expert. You can enjoy various contents related to horses.

  • O’sulloc Tea Museum - The Osulloc Tea Museum, located on Jeju Island opened in 2001 is Korea’s first tea museum. In 2013, Osulloc Tea Stone was built next to the museum offering visitors with various tea experience and cultural activity programs

  • Yongmeori Coast - Yongmeori Coast is a volcanic beach made of ash emitted during violent explosions occurring when hot magna coming from underground met the cold seawater. Going down the narrow path to the beach, you can also see a sandstone cliff. Its name, Yongmeori (it literally means a dragon’s head) comes from its resemblance to a dragon appearing ready to plunge deep into the sea. Entrance may not be permitted during rising tides or bad weather. In case of closing of Yongmeori Coast (during rising tides or bad weather) Mt. Songaksan will be alternative tour course

  • Sanbangsan Mountain - Sanbangsan, rising to a height of 395 meters is a typical dome-shaped, craterless volcano. Its name, Sanbang, originates from a natural stone cave formed in the middle of the mountain. Inside the cave, called Sanbanggulsa Temple, there is a statue of the Buddha. According to a legend, water drops from the cave ceiling are the tears of love shed by the goddess who protects Sanbangsan’s stone walls.

  • Songaksan Mountain - In case of closing of Yongmeori Coast (during rising tides or bad weather) Mt. Songaksan will be alternative tour course

  • Alive Museum - A Tricky Theme Park Made of Five Optical Illusion Experience Themes Trick Art, Digital Art, Sculpture Art, Provence Art We will provide our visitors a special and exciting experience and story through 5 unique themes

  • Cheonjeyeon Falls - Cheonjeyeon Falls, named “The Pond of God,” consists of 3 sections. Around the falls, a variety of plant life thrives, such as the rare ‘solimnan’ reeds. To the east, there is a cave where cold water pours from the ceiling to create the first waterfall. The water gathers into a pool and from there, falls two more times, creating the second and third waterfalls, which then flow into the sea.

  • Seongeup Folk Village - This traditional village on Jeju Island has been preserved as it was in olden days with impressive piles of stones designed to protect roofs from the wind.

Lovely tour and great guides - Amazing tour guides for both days, we had Lucas for the first day (east jeju); he had a wealth of fun and historical facts and was very quick on the picture taking! Mr koh (west and south) was very polite and made sure we were all ok in the heat. Both guides were very professional and made sure we had enough time to visit all the places on the itinerary and air-con was on full blast on both days. Great for independent site seeing and delicious food recommendations 😋

Amazing 2-day tour of Jeju - Booked a 2-day private tour through Lucas Travel. Our driver, Mr.Lee, was funny, knowledgeable and welcoming. He was ready to take us around the island early each day and planned the activities out well. Mr. Lee is also an amazing photographer and made sure we got the most out of each activity/sight. Aside from touring, Mr. Lee took us to delicious local Korean restaurants. Jeju island is a beautiful place to visit while in South Korea and Mr. Lee made it even memorable.

French people in Jeju - Mr. Kim was very nice. He helped us to buy a birthday cake. The tour and the explanations were clear and interesting. 2 days trip is short but at least it gave us a glimpse of the island.

Convenient and enjoyable - This tour made it very convenient for my family, which includes a senior citizen, to see interesting sites in Jeju. Mr. Koh (Lucas) was cordial and knowledgeable while Mr. Kim (David) was funny and accommodating. They volunteered to take our photos and took us to good places to eat local food. We greatly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it!

David was an amazing guide! - Jeju was above and beyond our expectations. The island is beautiful even in the off season. Our experience was incredible because of David's hospitality and professional service. He arrived early, the van was spotless, he was a safe and efficient driver, and choose wonderful restaurants with local flavor. Being a lifetime resident of Jeju, David, was extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer questions while we toured the beautiful island. We highly recommend the tour and treating yourself to such a professional and stress-free experience.

Professional, Flexible and Fun! - I booked with Lucas Travel because I was taking my mom on this trip to Jeju, I didn't want her to be uncomfortable and I wanted her to see and experience as much as possible. Lucas travel upgraded our vehicle to a mini-van and our driver, Mr Kim, is such a knowledgeable tour guide. He is easy to get along with, speaks great English and my mom was able to ask him all the questions she had. Mr Kim was also flexible, so when we chose to skip an activity to stroll on the beach and drink some coffee for an extra hour he was happy to oblige. I've fallen in love with Jeju so I'm looking forward to booking with Lucas Travel again!

It was a very nice... - It was a very nice experience. Both of our drivers were speaking English and as French people we could easily understand them. They were Really nice. They guide us and took pictures of us at every spot. You just have to be quick to have the time to do everything but it is an easy way to see all the beautiful places in Jeju. Mention to Raymond, one of our driver who did an amazing job showing us the island!

Decent Tour - Lucas was very prompt and friendly. He had clear communication on when to meet and what the next stops would be for the day. We really enjoyed all the sites that we saw and he took lots of photos for us. He pushed our culinary boundaries in a good way. We did make some requests to alter the basic itinerary. He was able to accommodate these but seemed to do so reluctantly. We also would have liked a little more information and commentary about the area and attractions we were seeing. Overall it was a good tour but our expectations were higher for what we paid.

It’s alright, but service definitely could be improved - We had an amazing 2 days in Jeju, the drive was very comfortable! It’s a bit overpriced (we only booked because they don’t accept European driving licence in South Korea without an international booklet, our mistake for not checking in advance). Our driver Jimmy was nice, spoke a tiiiiny bit of English. The only thing is that he kept pushing for the places he knew, not the places we planned to go to 😅 but we managed to convince him that it’s not too far, it’s not too expensive for us to eat at a good restaurant, it’s ok for us to pay a bit overtime etc.
