- Mysterious Road (Dokkaebi Road) - This peculiar road, also known as Goblin Road, is a curious spot where, if you park your car on a downhill slope, the car doesn’t roll down as expected but instead appears to move uphill. This phenomenon is actually due to an optical illusion; the road, which seems to be uphill, is actually downhill with a slight 3-degree slope. This oddity has turned the road into a popular tourist attraction, leading to the installation of various safety measures to prevent accidents. Plans are also underway to develop a tourist park starting from Dokkaebi Road. In 1981, a newlywed couple stepped out of a taxi and took a photo, only to see the taxi seemingly move uphill. This strange occurrence quickly gained attention, drawing more visitors to this free and mysterious location.
- Eoseungsaengak - Eoseungsaengak is a favored oreum for those looking for a light climb. The area is well-preserved and serves as a nature learning trail. On clear days, you can see Chujado Island, Biyangdo Island, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak from the summit, which is 1.3km away. The hike to the top takes about 30 minutes one way, starting next to the Eorimok Visitor Information Center. At the peak, which stands 1,169m above sea level, remnants of a Japanese military facility built in 1945 can be found. These structures are connected by trenches and were once linked to an underground fortress at the base of Eoseungsaengak, though they are now sunken and blocked.
- Jeongbang Waterfall - Jeongbang Waterfall is one of Jeju Island’s three major waterfalls, alongside Cheonjeyeon and Cheonjiyeon Waterfalls. It stands 23m high, 8m wide, and 5m deep, and is the only waterfall in Korea that flows directly into the sea. Located a 15-minute bus ride from downtown Seogwipo, visitors can reach the falls by purchasing a ticket and descending a pine tree-lined staircase for about 5 minutes. The waterfall, which glows like the Milky Way in sunlight, can be heard from afar. The surrounding vertical rock walls feature well-developed columnar joints. Though not as grand as some foreign waterfalls, Jeongbang Waterfall’s harmonious blend with nature offers a unique and neat spectacle.
- Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market - The Seogwipo Daily Olle Market is a traditional market in the heart of Seogwipo City and a must-visit on any Jeju itinerary. As the largest and oldest permanent market in Seogwipo-si, it plays a significant role in boosting the local economy, attracting both residents and tourists year-round. Here, you can find Jeju specialties like Omegi rice cakes, tangerines, hallabongs, jade fish, silver cutlassfish, and black pork.
- Yongmeori Beach - Yongmeori Coast, located at the base of Sanbangsan Mountain, extends to the sea and is named for its resemblance to a dragon’s head dipping into the water. The sandstone rock walls, formed over tens of millions of years, have been sculpted by waves into unique cliffs. The wave-carved caves and hollow rock walls evoke a sense of ancient history. The dramatic cliffs, stretching 30-50m high, have been featured in commercials and films. A narrow, flat trail along the sea cliff allows visitors to explore the coast in about 30 minutes. However, entry is restricted during bad weather or high tide due to safety concerns. Along the sandstone path, haenyeo (female divers) sell seafood at coastal stalls.
- Oedolgae - Oedolgae in Jeju’s Seogwipo is a 20m tall, 7-10m wide stone pillar formed by wave erosion of a lava field from a volcanic eruption. The name Oedolgae means ‘lone rock’ due to its solitary position in the sea. Designated as Scenic Beauty No. 79 in 2011, along with Sanbangsan Mountain (Scenic Spot No. 77) and Soesokkak (Scenic Spot No. 78), Oedolgae is also known as ‘General Rock’ and ‘Grandma Rock,’ each with its own legend. After visiting Oedolgae, you can enjoy a leisurely walk along a beautifully designed promenade to Seonnyeotang on Hwanguji Coast, with views of Saeseom and Saeyeongyo Islands.
- O’sulloc Tea Museum - The name ‘Osulloc’ combines a light exclamation ‘oh’ with ‘sulloc,’ referring to the origin and exclusivity of sulloc tea. The museum, filled with the scent of green tea and views of green tea fields through glass windows, is a popular stop for Jeju tourists. At the Tea House, visitors can enjoy hot tea brewed by a tea master, green tea ice cream, and roll cakes. The dark green tea roll cake, in particular, is not overly sweet and is a favorite among adults.
